any one fix their seat squeaking?

it seems when ever i sit down or lean back and like push my back into the seat i get a sqeak. its starting to annoy me. when getting in and out the car or on long rides when i move around it squeaks. its not the seat belt like originally thought? any ideas i tried to get to the piviot point but couldn't figure it out.

I just fixed mine at least temporarily. Get some wd-40 with the little straw thing attached and first put the seat back all the way back and spray the heck on both sides where the seat and seat back meet. Then put the seat back all the way up (straight) and from the rear seat spray the heck on both sides from the back. Then run the seat back back and forth all the way back then back up straight a couple of times. Also I sprayed the seat belt latch and where the seatbelt attaches to the seat.

I did that a week ago and it hasn't made a noise since. It seams to happen most when the weather changes from warm to cold or visa versa. Good luck.

I noticed the squeaking when I first got the car and I always thought it was the passenger seat since it seemed to only happen when there were other people in too. I realized that the source of mine was the lever to adjust the lumbar support rubbing against the center console. So i changed the lever to be verticle instead and I havent had the squeak since then, kinda sucks that this happens, not sure if this was just mine or if anyone else found this too?

That's why you need the little straw thingy on the spray so you can stick it behind the plastic covers. Also putting the seat all the way back opens up some access spots (from the front as does putting it all the way straight up (from the back. You need the little straw thing so you can stick it into those areas without spraying stuff all over.

Did it about a week ago and left the windows open over night in the garage and no lingering smell and still not squeeking.
By the way if you take it to the dealer with the squeeking complaint do you think they take the seat apart?? No way. The service adisor told me that the just spray the lubricant where I mentioned with no disassembly.

I fixed my in 2 steps. First is to pull off the seat back panel and wrap the seatback tubing with some green silk (the backing material we used on the back of table lamp stand). It will solve the seatback form rubbing again the tubing. Second, buy some silicon dry-film spray from HomeDepot and spray on the hindges on both side. WD-40 works but gives a bad small and may drips to floor carpet if you overspray. no more squeak...

And how did you remove the seat back? Start and the bottom and just yank? Or is it better to start at the top? Any idea how many clips there are?

Thanks!

or you can just adjust the back of the seat up some and leave the front part down all the way. that stops the noise for me 100%.

Are you sure it isn't the seatbelt? My 00 TL did the same thing when a passenger was in the car. Dealer denied hearing anything. But there was a recall for the seatbelt, and after the recall fix, it never did it again.

My squeaking was actually coming from the driver side seatbelt latch, of all places. Spraying WD40 only lasted for a few weeks and the noise came back, after using a "goopier" spray like Dura-Lube, it never came back.

As far as the front seat noise there is a TSB for this.

i sprayed the tracks the seat goes on, the seat belt area, inside where the latch goes, i took the back of the seat off and sprayed every metal on metal part back there, and i sprayed the sides where the seat bottom and seat back meet. you kinda got to poke a hole through the felt in that area to really get a good spray in there.
