ok long story short, i believe my tranny is going out. Everytime I floor it, (from ramp to Interstate) the car struggles to get to the speed limits. Like I can feel the car bogging or something. Is this a tranny issue?

my question is--if its a tranny issue, can i swap out my ecu for a tl-p 00-03 ecu and my engine harness to a tl-p 00-03 engine harness? For these two items so i can get a 06-07 accord tranny? will this work? OR do i need the 00-03 tl-p motor too??

If not tranny issue..possibly winter gas? clean my throttle body?

and the car seems like it has no power at all!! any suggestions?

i have to double check on that..last time i lift my car..it was a one piece from y to the exhaust...i could be wrong, but will report back on the cat..
and btw..smoke comes out fine at the rear end..nothing like here and there..its more a constant flow..ik this cause wi. got cold weather for me to see the exhaust fumes

Check the ATF level with engine warmed up and off on a level surface, if its low add and if its over filled you need to do a drain and fill.
Is the check engine light on ? even if its off have it scanned it may have a code that could help with the situation.

Aside from shifting the trans doesn't make the car go faster or slower, that is completely tied to your engine..


I would check as suggested the CAT or Intake Manifold.
How long since you changed spark plugs? do you have any Check Engine Light?


When you WOT (Full Gas) the trans does downshift accordingly? or does it stays in the same gear?.. you can check it by going Sport Shifting after you WOT it will display your current gear.

ATF is good! I did a drain a fill, checked level (it's between the two dots, could use a refill tho)..shifting seems smooth, no hard shifting at all! When I WOT the car does down shift accordingly..it just takes forever (gas pedal does seem like it has tension) AND you can feel the car boggling/struggling to get to speed..once at sped limit it's all good..just when you give it gas you feel the bog?!! (It also idles fine..just under 1k) I also did spark plug when I bought the car 1 year ago too..

Will also scan for any codes!!

Also check air filter and run a can of seafoam in the gas tank.

That was my next thought, check the air filter.
Could be a faulty Tps or the catalytic conveter like Marcdavidoff mentioned.
Since you mention "tension on the pedal" Have you ever cleaned the throttle body before ?

Yeah it sounds like you have an Issue with Intake/Exhaust something is bogging your engine.. How about Spark Plug life? Have you changed those recently?

Are you referring to the map sensor on the throttle body?

Yeah, spark plug has been changed, filter been clean (not change, just cleaned) But i will this weekend take a look at it..thanks for all the advices guys..maybe even seafoam it too!!
