Air flow issues

Ok so I have replaced my cabin filters but still have poor airflow in the car thru the vents. With the fliters and seal off the came out of the filter compartment very strong so i know the blower is good. I did notcie tho that when i try to change the area that air comes out of (vents, defrost, floor ect) nothign changes. I am thinking there must be something that directs the airflow that is broken or stuck. Can someone give me an idea of what that is called and how I might get to it to find out if its broken? Thanks!

damn dude - give it some time (more than 4 hours on a Friday). we don't come to the forums to answer your questions exclusively.

most likely the mixing motor/actuator.

eh sorry Its just really cold in Wisconsin and it would be great if I could get my defroster to blow some air. How would I get to the motor/actuator to see if it is the issue?

Thanks for your time!

try using the search feature for blower motor and there should be several threads with actual help
I know that changing the direction of air with fan on high speed will contribute to the problem of a door mechanism breaking
most have a plastic gear hooked to a metal rod- like door locks work

do you have the dash controls for temp/direction or the Auto temp system that comes with the nav cars

you can remove the filter again and look to the left for control doors

and still have the same low flow?

I see you are relatively new - 1st thing is to get your hands on the service manual - do a search, it was posted in a thread for download. Huge ass file (800 MB and 2200 pages) but worth the DL. Also, familiarize yourself with the search feature on this site - it can sometimes be shitty, so do a google search with your key words and add acurazine.com.

check the last couple of posts in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=air+mix

the thread said to do a search for "heater" to find another thread with instructions to diagnose using the control panel.

this thread may help you also: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-1999-2003-98/heater-ac-issure-99-tl-572434/

also, i see tom is reading this thread - he might offer some advice also (damnit - he beat me!). good luck!

yeah- but I havn't been inside the TL dash to be of much help beyond basic auto assembly methods

did you see the new acura tech page- replaced the free owner book link--
can you say bend over?
but in this case in may be worth a 3day for the actual info
