99-01 Stock radio Aux Input Mod

So I got tired of burning CDs and started to look around for different ways to hook up an auxiliary jack and keep the factory radio, So at first I looked at the simple route, However with the tape deck being damaged I was no longer able to use it with the tape adapter.
Option 2 was to purchase an AUX adaptor for around $20 then I thought maybe I can make my own by looking up the 14 pin diagram, Only to find out it just wont work since the radio and cd changer need to communicate via Bus line and there was no way I was going to replicate that with some wires and soldering.
Option 3 I read somewhere that you can tap into the FM part of the radio but you will need to find a way to mute the noise, I deemed this too complicated.

Option 4 I then looked at the CD part of the radio and while analyzing I spotted 2 familiar letters L then R at that moment I was confident that I had found an input, I then proceeded with a 3.5mm audio cable I had laying around and soldered the wires up to the board (R: Red, L: White)The black wire is Ground . Then I assembled the radio carefully to test and I was amazed how it worked, As soon as you plug it up to your device it mutes the music thats playing from a CD meaning you wont have to make a CD with 1 quiet track, This setup eliminates that issue.
Will post info and pics later.

Under CD Mechanism

Only Attempt this if you know how to solder and know how to properly handle electronics. Enjoy

Nice work, would've been nice when I had my TL.
Wonder if my Civic is similar....the CD player has started to want to eat CDs, so I haven't been able to use it.

will it work on my 2003?

The one that plugs into the CD changer port works great and uses your steering wheel controls as well. Before I got an aftermarket head unit, that worked great

I put one of these in my wife's Odyssey Bluetooth and iPhone/iPod/AUX Kits for Acura TL 2000-2003 | GTA Car Kits. I like it so much I'm going to put one in my car. The ability to stream via bluetooth and make phone calls (and use steering wheel controls for both) I think makes it worth it.

I also purchased the aux mod kit from GTA Car Kits (GTA Car Kits | iPhone, AUX and Bluetooth integration). I really was pleased with the product but I find myself using the bluetooth to my phone more than the aux input now. Now I have spotify in my car. Also keep in mind that if you are charging your phone from the cigarette adapter and using the aux input at the same time you will get a "whine" in your speakers when you hit the gas. It's a grounding issue thats created because both items are connected to the same ground on the car. For this reason also I use bluetooth instead of the aux input. When you arent using the aux input, wrap the metal tip in electrical tape.

What did you mean you need to make a CD with a quite track. I tried to make a CD and it does not work. Making a quite track on will help? How to you burn a quite track on the CD?

There's many ways to do that, However you don't need to make one for this to work. If you want to you will need to make the player read burned cds wich I also made a DIY on how to do that.

Guys I will post more pics later, Currently in the middle of a few jobs. That Bluetooth thing is giving me a few Ideas, Stay tuned.

About the 02-03 radio I don't have one, If anyone has a spare one and know how to take out the CD module post a picture of the board here, might just be the same.
