Well the since the Infinity G35 is here, RWD. Volvo is moving toward AWD as well. I think Acura gotta make the move to either AWD or RWD sooner or later.
Sure there's the ES300 & I35 out there still, but I think they should target the TL-S as something more sportier than that...

Rick Case already developed the 3.5 TL type-SX with
the 3.5 cams and gears from the MDX! that was a 315 HP TL, and that was last year! something competetive is coming! acura knows they are losing the rear wheel drive sport coupe/sedan race! the cl probably will be faded out or changed to something else. that convo was with my imaginary friend... do you guys think i would post this info if there wasn't some basis in reality, just so i can look like an idiot when it doesn't come to fruition? i'm just relaying to guys what i was told by upper level acura peeps in the know... kman

I read that Acura is introducing a brand NEW model that will be RWD to compete with the BMW 3, IS300, G35, etc. They are also indicating a dump of the CL.
The TL will stay but be redesign and probably compete with the 5 Series & GS, but probably only in size, not power. (We should all know for sure in about 6 months, I guess)

Kman, if what ya say is true, it's gonna be mighty expensive to get those new high HP TL! Our current gen TL is a bargain for what we get (fully loaded, 225 HP, etc.). My understanding of the current gen TL is that it is a reasonably affordable car with luxury and performance. That's why Honda sells so many TLs. But if they are gonna compete with rear wheel drive competitors, the affordability factor goes out the window. The new next gen TL will be awesome (no doubt about that), but how many us will be able to afford it? I'm curious how Honda is going to go rear wheel drive with high HP, and still remain affordable. We'll see soon enough I guess.
