It does up the "class factor" of the 2nd Gen TL as well as technology of today's most current cars... Good job.

hey guys, sorry i havent been on in awhile..so busy with other stuff. Yes my dad is making them in his spare time and they are a working progress. Had them all stuck back together and ready to go in the car, we gave them one last test to make sure everything was up and running and a few of the LEDs quit. Had to change them and then when we went to put it in the car, we realized there is a brake light failure sensor or something of the sort. Because of the LEDS it sensed something was wrong because of a different voltage i think, so we have to figure a way around this. Still working on it!

keep you posted

You might have to integrate resistors to emulate the traditional bulbs. The same ones you would use for LED turn signal bulbs so they flash properly.

i think were gonna do one more test fit, run them for awhile seal them up and were good to go...as long as the test goes good. Reason its taking awhile right now is because weird shit has been happening., When there in the brake lights work but not when the lights are on, then when the lighrs were on and the brakes were applied, the brake light would come on but then tail lights go out. I think weve fixed it though, gotta check it out again

On the car!

Okay so the lights work...sort of

As soon as both tail lights are in, when the signal is on, both the signals AND the driving lights flash. When the new LED tail on the right side and the old tail light replaced it, the left signal works as normalls and vice versa. When the brake lights are applied with the LED tails in, everything lights up, including both signals. With the factory brake box removed the signals work perfectly but then there is no brake lights.

Here are some pictures of them on the car:
Left Signal on, hard to see because its flashing

Total of 1 out of 8 posts is not "some" posts. I just want to remind people that there's no list or anything for a set. At least for now, this is a personal project.

I was mostly posting as a suggestion. We can clearly see there is no list but in the thread he has put that he wants to get a list made eventually and have them made for us but wants to make sure they are working properly first.

PrEmIuM
Ill make a list of people who are interested and let you know when more sets will be available. Dont expect it to be anytime soon as we need to finish this set and get more Tails LEDs figure out a cost etc..

Stephen00Tl- They look good I would be interested if they actually get made for us.
ua5inspire03- I would love to have a set of those when they come up for sale...
DrewZTL- Patiently waiting for a set when product is ready.
That's three

I have followed this thread since it was started and I have read they are not working properly. I will give him credit for getting this far and it actually looking like they will be made because like so many other things people stopped or gave up. Also just because someone post that they want a set does not mean they expect it right away. They are also giving him props for doing a good job

Those "three" posts are from before he posted about the problem he is having. My post obviously doesn't refer to those, as there was no problem during that time. Even I posted that they looked great.

What I'm saying is that after he posted about the problem, there have been 8 posts roughly saying "GJ I want," and zero posts with any information to help him fix it. I would also buy a set, but first we gotta get it working. Unfortunately, I REALLY doubt he's going to make any more. The labor on this project is just taxing.

It is hard for alot if not most of us to help because he is the only one I have seen make it this far. I have no doubt the labor is intensive on this job but the hardest part is getting the first one done and fixing all the problems. Gfaze also posted arms tried to help but that was before the pictures.

Ok to get this thread back on topic, I may have found something useful.

As I was looking through nf3d0149ab progress thread I noticed he actually made led tail lights and got them to work on his cl.

PrEmIuM maybe you can pm him and see if he can help you figure out what's wrong or give you some advice.

As long as it's going to take for him to complete one set, I'll probably not own a TL at that time. Cool project tho.

The problem is easy to Resolve.. He needs a Resistor in the Negative feed since normal Halogen Bulb has a Filament which is burning most of the Amperes the LEDs doesnt do this, so most of the Current is going too fast trough the system making alot of Resistance in the Tail-lights Fuse which in case Produces blinking... Basic LEDs 101...

This can Be Resolved by Installing a 5 Ohm Resitor on the Negative feed
OR
Completely remove the Fuse on the Fuse Box.

As I've said once before, I'm down to get a set. Congrats on getting it done Premium, they look sicker than I imagined. It would be sick to have the rims, lip kit and some bad ass LED tails for next summer...

Exclamation

Please Let me know what you guys think of this

Okay heres what we come up with: So there 2 options we have to get you guys the tails

First of all, the lights will cost $320 + Shipping. Buyer pays the shipping. This is not too costly considering the time and effort and cost in parts needed for these.

This modification CAN be done to 02-03 lights.

What you recieve: LED Taillights
LED Turn Signal
Modified "Brake Lamp" sensor light (this light will come on all the time on your dash without this modification)

Option 1

You ship me your tailights AND HARNESS that you want converted, let me know ahead of time and make sure i confirm this so i will have a set of LED tails ready to send back to you right away. This makes sure there is minimal downtime of you not having your car.

This will cost $320 + Shipping, i am located in Hamilton Ontario.

Option 2

A payment of $320 + a $70 deposit (this deposit may vary if you want 02-03 lights) will be made and i will send you your LED Tails and you will ship back your original Tailights along with the harness, in good working condition. The deposit is just to be sure we receive your original lights in good working order.
