2003 acura TL 3.2 won't go in reverse ....

I have a 2003 Acura tl. 3.2 with over 240k miles on it. For the past 3 months my car will occasionally refuse to go into reverse when I start the car. To get the car in reverse, I have to take a ink pen, and press it into the slot on the shifting console. This works every-time. To eliminate the key as a possible issue, I had a new key made, but the issue is still present. What if anything can I do to get this issue resolve? also my TCS light is on. I don't know if these are connected ( TCS light on and the car occasionally won't go into reverse from a cold start without me having to put a ink pen pressed down into the console). Please advise.

If that link isn't enough, its pretty simple. Look at your brake pedal and you'll see the only thing touching it that has a small harness. Unclip the harness and twist the switch off and out, it'll make perfect sense when you see it. Insert the new one and drive your car. This pedal switch is also the common problem source for the cruise control not working.

Update: I installed the pedal switch and it appeared to resolved the problem. All is working well for now.If anything changes I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks for the suggestions.
