Hello everyone! A few months ago I purchased a 2002 Acura TL Type S with 151,000 for a great price. It’s now at around 157,000 and I’m running into some problems now, I stopped at a gas station and when I turned my car back on, it was idling at around 400-500 rpm and was shaking, I gave it a couple revs and the shaking goes away at around 1,500 rpm and my check engine light flashes every few minutes. I was reading another thread about this problem. Today I’m doing spark plugs, cleaning up the intake manifold and EGR valve with some carb cleaner. If that doesn’t work, imgoing to unplug a coil one at a time to see if the RPM drops, and whichever one doesn’t drop the RPM, (I’m hoping it’s just one) then I will replace that ignition coil. I will keep everyone updated, hopefully with good news!

I had a flashing CEL and rough idling at times.... Codes were returned as Random misfire .Turn out one of my coil pack was bad... Most of the time it's number 2 coil that the culprit on these cars.

Had the same problem on my 2000. It would shake and had a rough idle. It ran fine after I changed the spark plugs and coil pack.
