2000 Acura 3.2 TL transmission jerk from 1st to 2nd
My acura jerks when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I have replaced the transmission about 1 yr ago when it blew out. What is the best thing to do right now? Transmission flush? I added more transmission fluid to make sure its not low in fluid but it did not solve the problem.
Any tips are rly appreciated thanks

My CL had the same symptom about a week before the transmission had to be replaced. Did you get a warranty when you replaced yours a year ago? When was the last time you totally drained the fluid and refilled?

STOP!!!!
go back and ck fluid level per book method
adding some may have put it over= which is really bad!
Did you use Honda dw1 atf?
its possible you have a few problems, dirty solenoids, wrong fluid since rebuild, level incorrect, front or other motor mount broken
Ck those before deciding its toast
after cking fluid level again, call the shop who did the trans and take it by for inspection and test drive

Try a complete flush with DW1

to be clear- we use the word flush to mean the manual drain and refill of trans fluid 3 times with 3 qts each time, with 5 minute drive between drainings using each gear up and down
see owner book for details- origianly used in case Dextron atf was added to the fluid- any at all will kill our trans
do NOT use a machine- they don't use Honda dw1 the only fluid you should let near your TL, especially at this point
a 3 oz sample of the atf sent to blackstone labs with 20 bucks will get a mass spectrograph inspection and interpretation by an actual HUMAN! who details what particulates have been found in what quantities- brass means one thing, other materials indicate the dreaded clutch wear, something else from gear wear etc
good news bad news or indifferent- the fluid tells all!

Replaced tranny a year ago, now jerking 1>2 shift

Tell us more about things like the tranny fluid condition, type fluid in it, if rebuilt and warrantied.
How many miles on it ? Have the mounts been checked ? Any CEL codes-flashing D5 ? Help us help ya better !
Ya may wanna just take it back to the shop where the last tranny was replaced.

Mr.Helpful Diagram
Theres a ground cable often forgotten by transmission shops on the 2000 and up. Just under the intake tube and brown in color fastened to the bracket and on the body.
It can cause some shifting issues.

This happens to me too and my tranny was rebuilt about 6 months ago and i have brand new engine mounts so if anybody tells you its the mounts that is FALSE information. Oh and when my was rebuilt they used DW1 also. The Transmission shop that rebuilt my transmission (they've been in the business for 50 years and work on mostly japanese cars) said that its just part of the shitty characteristics of the 2nd Gen TL trans. That explanation makes sense to me to a point but sometimes mine jerks SO BAD from 1st to 2nd that i feel like it just can't be normal.

this is a thread about trans shifting problem
Do you have a general knowledge problem with starter system, or do you need help tracking a no start problem?
Ck the main thread area and sub section Problems and Fixes thread titles for your problem, if the SEARCH feature doesn't find you help then start a new thread in this main area

fresh rebuild has bad 1>2 jerk shifting.....
....... Yeah, rebuilding the original tranny is at most only a temporary band-aid fix.
For the same or less money, it makes more sense to install the "AV6" for better durability and value.

very true but at the time i knew nothing about the AV6 trans swap. After paying $1000 for the rebuilt it isn't worth me doing the swap now obviously so i'll just put up with the jerking and ride it out, i hate when ppl say that your trans is on its way out when somebody mentions the jerking which is also false information. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with my transmission its just the horrible way that they were designed, the jerking is also more noticeable while the car is cold.

Could possibly be a restriction in the fluid's flow or a faulty solenoid ?
PS: Under your Avatar, it states your join date as Mar, 2010. The "AV6" donor replacement option has been documented within this forum before ya had it replaced 6 months ago, so the information was readily available.
