20 year old car vs. 5 year old car...

I was looking at 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times for both cars I own, interesting how close they are...

2003 TL-s (stock):
0-60: 6.5 sec.
1/4 mile: 14.9

1988 MR2sc (stock):
0=60: 6.5 sec.
1/4 mile: 15.1

one day I will be in one of the cars and the other will pull up to a light...

1988 Toyota MR2sc (supercharge T-bar) (Horsepower 145 )

Curb Weight - Manual (lb.) 2494

2003 Acura TL-S (non-navi) (Horsepower 260 @ 6100 RPM )

Curb Weight - Automatic (lb.) 3558

the MR2 should possibly be quicker being that it is a lighter car and its a manual gearbox.

i doubt the mr2 is faster even new. now that its 20 years old most are probably close to dead or have been rebuilt and modified to hell.

Not close to dead... not modified to hell, waiting to install a new pulley system to raise boost... The MR2 feels as fast as the TL-s, and definitely more nimble in the corners...

In 1988 the MR2sc was one of the fastest cars 0-60... ah the smog era...
