1999 TL Throttle Body Replacement
I had an issue with the can idling smooth. The intake manifold was cleaned but did not fix the problem. Then the shop said a sensor on my TB went bad and my shop couldn't replace it because the bolts on the sensor that was going bad was almost flush to the part. They suggested buying a used TB as new ones are pretty expensive to go on this old car. I found a refurbished one for $130 that looked brand new and came with a 1yr warranty.
The shop installed it for me and w/in 30 miles the check engine light and TCS light came on. I went back to them and the code said the EGR valve was bad. I had replaced it about 4 months ago and had a lifetime warranty on it, so I exchanged it for another one and had the codes cleared. Today, about 50 miles later the TCS and check engine light came on again.
Is there some setup steps that the shop could have missed, that I should tell them about. The car is driving, and idling fine now. The lights are just on. I haven't been able to go to AutoZone today to see if there is a new code or the same one yet, but will tomorrow.
