Do you have a preference on having it done privately or through a shop? Do you have a TL-P or TL-S? Are you supplying the AV6 transmission?

05 still used the "Upgraded" B7WA < Our transmission..
BYAB is a completely new transmission used on the 06 and 07.

Thanks for the images, hope I won't have a hard time try to locate the stick since the car might not be on lift when I get there.

I'm not sure if you can mount directly to your engine with 06/07 Transmission

another update-
i told them just put the accord transmission without warranty.

basically this morning received a call from them and advised accord transmission won't work and they already put Acura transmission back in. but it's the SAME one that was on my car. I rebuilt my transmission 2 cars ago with approx 30k miles, I have a feeling when they open my old transmission and noticed not a lot of parts damaged means cheap fix, so they decided to fixed with low cost instead of put accord transmission?

what you guys think?

^ You gave them the Green light to install the B7WA? If not tell them to go FUCK OFF and install the Accord transmission... If you didn't agreed on it of course... Tell them that if they don't want to install the Accord transmission because of their lack of knowledge you will take it to some other more capable shop.

Shit I hate dealing with Arrogant shops like that, How did they know the Accord trans would not work if they didn't tried it? Too lazy or just don't wanna do extra work..

Tell them to remove that transmission and do what you told them to do.. Just talk them out from any responsibility and they will do it! Tell them is all on you just install that MOFO as you want it and NEVER come back to that shop.

^ Mostly legal issues.. Since they got to give you some sort of warranty Most if not all Trans shops don't wanna deal with Swaps since they can go wrong any time (If the swap isn't really bolt on like the Accord)... Thus why you want to talk them out of any responsibility and make them agree on doing it, its sometimes a hardship.

basically they're saying since the ratio is different which saying MIGHT burn oil due to transmission will spin faster and won't provide any warranty. to be honest, as long they won't mess up it should be fine

^ Funny because only 4th and 5th are Different for TL-p users the trans has exactly same Ratios as the TL-S transmission so they are talking out of their butthole they don't even know the ratios hahaha.

If the shop rebuilt the old one and re-installed it, what are the total costs and warranty ?
And....what happens to the AV6 sitting there in the shop if it was'nt used ?

Is anybody on the newer accord Trans with over 75,000 miles on it? I went to a reputable shop 2 years ago and about 70,000.00 miles ago and had my original tranny rebuilt. I must say they did a great job but i was sure to run into this problem again. So now here i am 70,000 miles later and my tranny is starting to stutter again. I dont think im doing the rebuild again, but i would hate to do the accord swap only to find that another 70k later im in the same trouble. If anybody is having any type of issues please speak up. The manual tranny is always an option i just would rather have automatic.

^ There is a thread down here with AV6 Swap only members look it up!
AV6 has nowhere the problems of our B7WA.. It gets toasted for sure if neglected but it doesn't suicide itself like ours

Don't think anybody is in the 70k range yet, but theres a couple with 20k+ and claim to have no problems and better gas mileage.

One swap I've done for a good friend, the trans came from the boneyard with 170k on it, he's put another 40k with the tl, its still really solid and strong!

He's on the same 10k 1x3 regimen I use for mine.

Did they install a new torque converter? If they used the original one from a failed or failing B7WA that is probably the issue. The TC should either be new or fully functioning.

Did you make sure to tell them what needs to be changed from your transmission to the BAYA?..

Tomorrow I'll double check with them if they used new TC, i'm so tired and making me want to sell my car now. when I first picked up it was so smooth shifting, never felt so smooth even from the day 1 I bought the car.

I told them to use all plugs/sensors from my car, do not use any presure senors from accord.

yeah, I called them this morning and told them when I was driving home I got the P0740 code again, I'll bring it in on Monday afternoon, I hope no stupid story from them since indeed I agreed on no warranty but that does NOT mean drive a broken car home!

^ Does it make anything wrong rather than having a code pop in? Cuz P0740 only means the TQ doesn't engage while cruising have you tried it out?

Usually you know its engaged while doing 60mph and your revs are close to 1.5K in 5th gear if you accelerate a little it will unlock the TQ and revs will go a little bit higher than 2K which is OK at 60MPH for 5th gear... It will lock again and revs will go again down to 1.5K.

^ I'm not sure what do you mean, all the shifting is fine even at 5th gear even when I was going 60MPH and step a little more gas, and YES RPM went higher and car does feel pick up faster. If i don't see all those lights I would think the car is perfectly fine.

I would check the fluid level and discoloration they might have overfilled the trans and make sure to ask them if they used HONDA fluids (DW-1) we all know these trans are very sensitive to fluids, using non HONDA Fluids can yield to FAILURE and all sort of abnormalities! TRANSFIX AND NON SLIP JUNK FLUIDS is a big NO NO

I can confirmed they did NOT put Honda ATF, I saw they put some red bottle ATF, some universal ATF. you think overfilled ATF will cost P0740?

^ Nope..
T/Q engagement is tied to P0740 if it works then there isn't a problem with the trans, have you tried to reset the ECU by pulling the clock fuse?
