03 TL upper ball joint

I am new here and I apologize if this has already been covered. I need to replace my driver side upper balljoint. I am seeing everywhere that you have to replace the whole upper control arm. However, I was able to buy a balljoint from advance auto parts. I would assume if it is not replaceable that they wouldn't sell it. I would very much appreciate a fast reply because I need to get it done tomorrow after work to get an inspection on Saturday. Thank you.

You need to buy complete assembly with ball joint already in it.

IIRC the factory ball joint is permanently attached to the upper control arm. The aftermarket ball joints you buy separate would work with an aftermarket control arm that has removeable ball joints.

I think so. It's easier to just change the upper control arm instead of dealing with pressing the ball joint out. But you can rent the tools to do it at auto parts stores. The price of the control arm was around 90 and the ball joint was 60 I believe. im not sure what the price is for the control arm without the balljoint but even though you might pay more getting the control arm with a replaceable ball joint it would be cheaper later on if you just need a ball joint. Which seems to me to go out before the control arm bushings. Make sure either way you get a greasable ball joint.
