02 Acura TL doesn't go through any cold start idle at first start

So I picked up this car about a week ago and it runs fantastic but one thing I've noticed is even after sitting all night when I first fire it up it doesn't do a normal cold start idling at like 1500 for a couple minutes. Anybody heard of this any thoughts of what could be wrong? Thanks

what rpm does it idle at when cold? Does it quit, struggle or run rough?

It idles at about six or seven hundred RPM 24/7. Doesn't run rough stumble or anything

My 2003 TLS will only idle on cold start at 1500 rpm when it's very cold outside, like 10 deg.. Normally, during current 73 deg. ambient temp., when started cold, it idles @ 1100 rpm for approximately 2 ninutes, than gradually, over the next 3-5 minutes, slows to approximately 750 rpm., which i believe is the (correct) rpm., at normal engine operating temperature..

It's not clear to me what that means. It does or doesn't idle at 1500 rpm when starting?

It's possible you have an aftermarket IACV which will initially idle high before dropping down to 600-700 rpm.

I think he's saying he's expecting it to idle high and then come down? Mine has never idled very high on cold start. Why are you worrying about it if it starts and runs fine?

I mean you could always reset the ECU (d/c battery or pull clock fuse) and do the idle relearn procedure (let idle until radiator fan comes on 2-3x).

My 03 idles around 1000-1100 for a min or two after cold start, since new. Why do you think it should idle at 1500? It’s different comparing to 4 cyclinder engines.

Just to add I also have a RL and a Odyssey, basically same J series engines but 3.5L, they all idle around 1100rpm for a minute or two after cold start. I’d say it’s normal nothing to worry about.
