Welcome to the TL-S family. In the future, if you are looking for help on mods, use the search function first. You'll most likely find your answer there. Questions pertaining to foglights are an abundance. I find the search function very helpful. Thanks to Tim for reactivating it.

No need to get testy MIKESTL. Since you're a newbie, I'll forgive your ignorance. You see the tabs on the left of your broswer? Very good, now click on the word "Search". Now...am I going too fast for you? Type in the word "foglights" and you'll be in foglight info. heaven. If you still don't get it, sell your TL-S and get back in your trailer home.

Take it easy you two. MikeyB, the foglights question have been covered many times by a lot of ppl here. It is very understandable since you are a newbie here. You can either use the search function and find all the posts about HID fogs. But IMHO, the best HID lookalikes bulbs will be the 9006 Piaa Plasmas.

I'm not trying to give him a hard time. If you see my original reply, I clearly taught a newbie how to navigate this website alittle better. What's the point of asking the same questions over and over again when there's an abundance of information on this subject already covered. There's a reason why Tim reactivated the Search function. If nobody uses it, what's the point of having it? He's the one that got testy with me, when he could've simply say "thank you" and be on his way.

No offense TYPESDRAGON, but Personally I could care less about how many posts I have!!! if I have something either funny or informative I'll post it, I don't post... "oooh those rims are hot" to add to my post count... I've been on the board for longer than most members although my count doesn't reflect it.

however, that is almost irrelevant to the matter at hand, if someone IS a newbie, and asks a question like that, does it deserve a comment like that?? we'd both agree, NO.

I've seen these posts one thousand times also, along with tranny shi., and clearing headlights, and the video to navi stuff too... who cares??? Is it wasting your time??? NO, if you have chosen to waste your time by opening and replying.... Then, you must ask yourself who the idiot is???

Point being, the second post was not necessary. anyway, we are in the middle discussing other people's concerns.... not worth it...

I have the SilverStars and they are a significant improvement in color and brightness over stock. Their color does a decent job matching the HID headlights once all of the bulbs warm up. I have PIAA superwhites (3800k color) in my truck and their color seems to be pretty close to the SilverStars (4000k color). In my opinion, nothing except HID fogs will ever match you HID headlights but these and the Xanos bulbs (according to others in this forum) are good alternatives.

Hey DHB did you get the 9006st Silverstars? Because thats what I have and I feel that they are an improvement but they still aren't that great. I was just wondering if we have the same bulbs.

Thanks,
Shawn

Can we all admit that in reality there is NO BULB that acutally even comes close to matching the HID? Sure some look better that others but come on, nothing even comes close!

I'm not sure if the model was 9006st but they are 9006 size Silver Stars. I can also verify that you can install two sets of SilverStars or PIAA's (which I did - fogs & hi beams on two different cars) and the two sets can have a slight but noticeable difference in color between them. Some pairs are definately whiter than others. I will say however that the light projection from the SilverStars or PIAA's is a significant improvement over stock. I agree with sixspdbrd though that there is no substitute for true HID lights. To truly match the headlights, you may have to drop about $300-$500.00 for an aftermarket HID assembly to replace the fogs.

try showoff USA kryptons...the color is REALLY good...but give's a whitish appearance rather than the clearish appearance of the HID's.

I agree, that is where my like for a contrast stems from ( use of the yellow bulbs)
