Will HFL Module Removal Affect Vehicle Voice Commands?

Hello,

I'm planning on removing my HFL module this weekend, to resolve a battery drain I'm having.

But I'm curious if removing the HFL module will (hopefully) only affect phone related Bluetooth? Or will it also kill the vehicle voice commands that control the AC/radio/etc; i.e. "fan speed 4" or "AC on". I don't use any of the phone Bluetooth functionality, but I use the voice commands for the AC and radio all the time.

I'm thinking the voice commands should be unaffected, since they appear to be separate systems and the AC/radio voice commands are not dependent on Bluetooth. But I figured I'd ask just to be safe.

Also, I heard removing the glove box rather than the kick panel is the better way to go. Is that true? Any tips?

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hypothetically it shouldn't. And yes, I've heard thru the glovebox is the easiest.

Yes, once you unplug the HFL you will lose the voice command feature. You can press the voice button then speak after but nothing happens after that.

Really? That's surprising since they appear to rely on different technologies. HFL uses Bluetooth via the larger external button attached to the wheel, and Voice Commands do not use Bluetooth via the smaller circular button embedded in the wheel.

You sure you're talking about the correct button? If so, have you removed HFL and lost the ability to control the AC or radio?

You still want to argue to the guy that replace all 3 bad HFL on the 3g TL? Go a head and unplug your HFL and try the voice command for yourself. I am kinda done of arguing with online people now these day lol.
