The front one isn't too bad, but the rear one jumps when turned with a wrench so that setting it on the timing mark is hard (nearly impossible). Any ideas?
put both cams on tdc. run belt over the two cam gears first. making sure all of your slack ends up on the tensoner side. put timing belt on crank pully last and us the crank to gently get the slack to the tensoner. then poull the pin on the tensoner. rock the crank back and forth like a tooth or two to get the tensoner to tighten up you dont want to turn crank more than a tooth or two to tighten up the belt so it wont jump your cAM GEARS

Does anybody know of a dealership running a special on the timing belt/water pump service? Hamilton Honda used to have one waaaay back for less than $500. Would love to find one in that price range in the NJ, PA, DE or MD areas. Please let me know. Thanks!

That price would be really good. In meantime if you don't find one, check this: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...t-kits-888928/

My advice is go to Rockauto (lower than amazon), buy the Aisin kit. The Gates one for 40 bucks less will be tempting, but it's Gates pump is a risk. Aisin is the same OEM supplier together with Yamada to our dealers.

@163 bucks, and you find a good mechanic to do it, you could still get away with 500 or less.

Please someone from DE,NJ,PA or MD get me a reputable Honda/Acura mechanic. These dealers either won't give me prices, leave me on hold or the quotes are outrageous. West Chester Acura: full service is $1895. Timing belt only $1500. What?

Hagerstown Honda finally picked up $849. tensioner would be extra $235. I think i'm gonna go with them.

Wow.. over a thou..

You should be able to find a honda mechanic, bring him the parts, and pay labor and tip for half.

Parts are getting expensive for the RL, especially with import duties. All parts are made in Japan if I recall.
