Very strange noise coming from the engine compartment, passenger side of the car. When the RL is idling there is a gargling noise emitting from that part of the engine. Almost sounds like its coming from the bottom of the car.

Not sure if anybody has heard this on their RL. I am going to do a quick video and post it tomorrow.

Stop feeding tuna with onions to your RL. And be sure it flosses afterwards.

I hear a gurgling sound on start up and idle for a few minutes, but it is gone thereafter. I believe I have also read this sound may be the fuel pump.

Does it do this even when the car is warmed up?

Yeah it does continue to make the noise even when the car warms up. I'll post the video. Its really strange. I am going to head the dealer to have them look at it. I have an extended warranty and about 52K on the car so I am not gonna worry for now.

Did you get the Listerine option on your RL?

Okay, enough of the jokes. Air in the heater core or hoses can cause a gurgle. To really get rid of it, it has to be "burped" ... that is, the air has to be expelled from the system.

Might want to check with your dealer if it persists, since in extreme situations it can affect engine cooling.

Thanks Mike_TX. I am going to schedule a visit and mention that. Hopefully they can burp my RL.

I had that problem on my 96 RL. I burped the cooling system and its almost gone. It used to be bad and pretty loud but now its gone basically. Its relatively simple to do it, but if you can get the dealer to do it free...go for it.
