They started together in Saitama, and then they took different paths in life to meet again at this point. I can tell you the guy on the left has been a workhorse, not a show horse. The black areas on the rear bumper strips aren't a trick of the sunlight, they're plasticized chrome coating peeling off the bumper strips. There's massive rust on the forward edge of the right front door (although oddly, not the rear wheelwells). And the glovebox door is in full acne mode. (As my brother said of that last ailment, "Odd place for Honda to cheap out." I'd guess they just didn't ride herd on the supplier to put enough UV inhibitor in the plastic, an offense Toyota committed around 2000 for a while.)
Buying any used car is so much a matter of maintenance by the previous owner. We have a lot of people entering and exiting this board now, of course, and its character has predictably transformed since these cars were newer. All things must pass, I guess.
