The system should take care of the low-end torque issues we have on the RL.

kind of amazing that they can use the inside motor to power the outside motor through regenerative braking.

perhaps - but you don't have to change the oil in electric motors

No, but you don't have to trouble shoot servos, relays, and you can service the internals on a conventional motor after thousands of miles.
