RL side mirror lens measurements
Hey, I’m hoping someone can help me out with a quick question. I’m looking for the dimensions of a 2nd gen RL side mirror lens. I’m in the process of installing a pair of TDM Honda Inspire mirrors on an 8th gen Accord. These mirrors look almost identical to the RL, the base of the mirror actuator behind the lens looks exactly the same as the RL and in the description for the RL mirror lens on the Acura parts sites lists R1400, the mirrors I have are labeled SR1400, so the RL mirror lens may fit.
The reason I’m trying to swap out the lenses are that the ones I have are convex on both sides and are non-heated, and the RL’s are heated. Before I drop the money on two mirrors that may not fit, I’m hoping someone can confirm the height and width of the mirror lens at their widest spots, and then a diagonal measurement from bottom left to top right. I’ve made a paper template of the mirror shape, but I can’t find any newer used RL’s in my area to do a comparison. Thanks in advance

When I get home from work, i'll get those measurements for you. If it's the same size, just make sure the back of the RL mirror will "latch" onto your actuator as the mirror actuator might be different.

Thanks for the measurements. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner, but Thursday night I took my paper template to the nearest shopping mall and found an RL, and noticed that the mirror lenses I have are bigger than the ones on the RL’s, then I came home, checked and saw the measurements. I guess looks can be deceiving, the ones I have are 7 x 5.25, so the RL mirrors would probably fit since the actuator attachments are the same, but then I’d have a big gap all around the mirror so time to put this project idea to bed.
