I have been looking allover for this damn rattle
problem is that it only shows up during open throttle acceleration
I cant replicate it even when revving the motor

it sounds like a loose bolt or nut. but similar to loose valve rocker clearance in vtec

it shows up very obvious when vtec kicks in..


the only thing I can think of at the moment is the IAB valve. is it supposed to be completely solid and closed all the way when you take it off the car?

every time I pull the top cover off the valve is open maybe 5-10%. and the butterfly plate has some play

I went through the whole engine bay with a small rubber mallet knocking on everything and no rattle.
