Problem With Drover Seat !!!!!!HELP

I notice after my wife drive my car shd moved the seat back backwards and when I tried to move it forward I notice it wouldn't move forward unles I moved it all the way back first. No in order to move it forward at all I glhave to recline it atleast half way back then bring it forward. Could this be a sign the motor is going dead? It's causing memory function to act up. By act up I mean not working. No free light

I initially thought it was the battery but I got that tested and it is in fairly new condition. I'm curious would the seat function start acting up if the motor was on its last leg?
