Pinstriping for your RL?

Yesterday when I was at my Acura dealer getting my "wood-look" (plastic) steering wheel installed almost all the new and used vehicles on the lot had pinstriping with the Acura logo inserted in-line on the front doors. I must admit some of the multi-color pinstripe combinations looked nice, but others seemed to clash. I guess the local dealer is looking to make some extra cash. I forgot to check to see what they were charging. I am now considering getting a double red pinstripe on my white RL if they don't charge too much. I was wondering how many of you have pinstriping on their RLs. If so, what color(s) on your RL.

No pinstriping here.

I had black pinstriping on my white '93 Vigor and it looked OK.

None on my White Diamond Pearl '01 TL and I think it looked better without. Kinda thinking the same thing with my CGP RL.

I noticed that at least one of the local Acura dealers here in Houston put pinstriping on some of the new RL's on their lot, so maybe a visit to another dealer in your area (if there is one) would allow you to see a car already done the way you would like.

To address your comments about color, assuming you have tan interior I would think a tan stripe would look better than the red.

But, like the posts above, I just don't think that pinstriping looks right on the car. There is something about the front fender flare that distorts the effect of the stripe.

Of course in the end, it's your car!

I'm indifferent about Pinstriping, but as someone said it's your car. I have a friend that always gets pinstripes for his BMWs and I think it looks good on them. I just have never wanted to myself.

Who cares what we think anyway. We're a bunch of guys who are total blow hards when it comes to the RL. All of us go on endlessly about what we think......there I go again!

I say get them, post some pictures and you'll definitely get a wide range of opinions. I've never seen the RL with pinstriping, I'd like to see it.

Everyone here has excoriated me for thinking of adding wood to the dash area. I've ordered the stuff and will post pics after the install. I think it'll look great- and my opinion is the only one that matters.

Do post pics. It may not look as bad as many people assume it will.

The last car I had pinstriped was an '83 Volvo. And only because I didn't know any better at the time...

Generally this is a high-profit item for dealers.

NOOOOOOO. Such madness can only lead to tacky hood scoops with firebird decals on them, flame decals on the sides of the car and other such nonsense

My dads 99 2.3 CL was black with white pinstripes and he wouldn't sign the papers for it until the dealership took them off, to each his own!
