OEM Cat's and Emission Lights - 05 Rl
Greetings!
Recently received a Check Emission light and took the car to my local shop. $3,006 quote to replace the cat by the firewall and two leaky pipes right before the mufflers. They swear up and down that any cat except one from Acura has the potential to still trigger the emission light, no matter how "OEM" its billed. Before I drop $400+ to do this all myself, does anyone have any experience to corroborate their claim? I'm in Pennsylvania and in three months the inspection runs out. It will not pass with an emission light on.

I'm no expert in cats by any means, but I think the aftermarket cats just have less material in them, but should still meet minimum standards if it's sold as legal in all 50 states...
