NY RL owners please chime in, opinions needed.

I have an 06 RL that I bought new. I've been having problems ever since I bought the car. Issues listed below:

- Squeak/squeal at low speeds (TSB B05-021)
- Wipers streak above 50mph (TSB B07-009? maybe)
- Howling when going over 30mph after a cold start (B080500)
- Shifter clicking when accelerating and braking (no TSB as far as I'm aware)

I've brought the car into the dealership many times regarding these issues and I get the same answer every time. "we cannot replicate it". I understand that it has to be replicated in order for them to take care of it and the issues seem to magically disappear when it's at the dealer. I have less than 28k miles on the car and drive like a 98 year old woman. I already need new pads, doesn't sound right to me. I have less than a year left on my warranty and I'm starting to get worried.

Interestingly, I called another dealer in NV to order some parts. Findlay Acura, talk to Clint, prices are really good. They were aware of all the TSB's and issues that I was having and said that if I was around there that they would take care of those issues. Obviously, not a realistic solution.

Why is it that my dealer won't do the same? I'm tired of bringing my car to this dealer, which I will not name. Can anyone in the NYC area suggest a dealer I can go to get these issues resolved? Your own experiences? Your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Acura warranty is disappointing. I thought it was 5 year/60,000km turns out to be 3 year/60,000. One of the motors in my drivers seat died, my driver door handle doesn't work when it gets wet, and the power outlet doesn't stay closed. Acura is telling me I have to pay $1200 for the parts alone. Im leaving it just like that.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's over a 2 hour trek for me, but I'll keep them in mind if I get desperate. I did suggest riding with the tech and they didn't want to do that. Makes me wonder if they drove my car at all.

Did you have any of those issues? And if so did they resolve them for you?

Maybe Canada is a little differnt from the US warranty which is 4 year/50k &
7 years/70k for the powertrain?

US RLs got the 4/50 7/70 (drivetrain) as of the 2006 model year.

2005 RL had a shorter factory warranty on the drivetrain (4/50)

Our Canadian friends are not treated so kindly by Acura (with the exception of cooled seats on 2005+ RLs):

Warranty:
− Full basic coverage: 3 years/60,000 km
− Major components: 5 years/100,000 km
− Surface corrosion: 3 years/unlimited kilometrage
− Perforation damage: 5 years/unlimited kilometrage
− Emissions control system: 3 years/60,000 km (full coverage); 8 years/130,000 km
(catalytic converter, electronic control module and onboard diagnostic device)

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but would you please not respond to this thread if you don't have anything to say about the topic? Warranty specifics can be discussed on your own thread. I'm looking for input more so from people in the NY area.

I use Acura of Manhattan, located 47th and 11th ave. They are decent if you stay on them.

I've been going there for the past 3 years starting with TL and now my RL.

www.acuraofmanhattan.com

If you listen to their automated system you can hear all about the 350hp Acura TL...dorks.
