When I get mine. I will try to make a review video. I'm sure it works great. Here's the manual. http://d2stobyut4u5rx.cloudfront.net...581BT45ACU.PDF

The review said it took 15 minutes to install. I doubt that as you have to take the radio out to get to the plug and that is no picnic. Would be nice if you could do it via the module in the trunk as that would be 15 minutes.

I was under the impression that this unit plugged in much the same was as the ACU-XL unit. Maybe I was wrong

At 40$, I'm still an advocate for the BB Music gateway if you have an '07+ with the AUX cable in the center console.

You might be right, says xm tuner in the manual, guess that means unit in the trunk. Do you have to run the micriphone since our cars already have BT phone? I'd just want it to stream audio.

I would assume so for the USA spec unit since it manages BT phone as well. For BBM gateway, it handles exclusively music streaming and your phone calls still run thru HFL. I've had two separate phones that simultaneously connected to HFL and BBM gateway with no issues at all so far.

I've been using it for awhile and I like it! It plugs into the AUX cable port of 07+'s and is powered by a USB cable which can plug into the 12V also in the center console! I've enjoyed the simplicity of using it. I just turn on Bluetooth on my phone and it searched for both HFL and BBM, auto connects and voila! Only issue I had was when I first got it, I noticed some hissing at the quiet part of youtube videos when streaming, but I replaced the 3.5mm cable with a shielded on and that went away.

I've been pitching this for a couple of months now. The unit plugs into the XM trunk module like other USASpec units. The description I read said that it doesn't handle BT calls in the RL. It said it pauses audio, hands the stereo over to the car (in reality, car overrides the audio system) and takes back over when the call is done. I have a good feeling it's a good solution for RL owners with no AUX.

If that's how it works, that sounds legit for people with no aux!

That description was from USASpec's website. Someone else can read it and see if I misintepreted.

For the phone calls, I am 99.9% sure that's how it works. One thing that always bugged me was that CDs wouldnt pause when a call came in. I could understand AUX because there was no way to signal the exterior source, but the HFL module and the stereo are two different systems with HFL getting priority. Remember, this module is converting Bluetooth audio to "XM" signal as far as the car is concerned. It will behave the exact same as XM radio when it comes to a BT call.

This works by plugging directly into your XM receiver in the trunk and can just leave it there and play all you music through your Bluetooth! That easy! The old unit like I have you have to use the wiring harness. Also USA Spec told me yesterday I could just replace my old module with this strait into my current USA Spec wiring harness.

I think I'm going to have to order one. I was wondering if it was plug and play or needed wired in. Need that review video. Did you get yours yet?

For those with AUX ports, I use an AUX to bluetooth adapter from Amazon that works quite well.

Amazon.com: Bluetooth Car Kit, TaoTronics Portable Wireless Audio Adapter with 3.5 mm Stereo Output (Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, Built-in Microphone) for Home Audio Music Streaming Sound System / Bluetooth Car Kits: Cell Phones & Accessories Amazon.com: Bluetooth Car Kit, TaoTronics Portable Wireless Audio Adapter with 3.5 mm Stereo Output (Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, Built-in Microphone) for Home Audio Music Streaming Sound System / Bluetooth Car Kits: Cell Phones & Accessories

Only 15 bucks, similar to projektvertx's suggestion!

its plug and play. Just plug into XM radio and you are ready to go.

I was looking something similar for the 05 RL being we don't have the AUX port and I came across this it a little pricey at $89. But looks like it will work seamlessly with iPod. I've also looked at the video on YouTube and looks great. Has any one tried product on Honda/Acurad?

I am very interested in this. I was originally looking for an Ipod adapter for my 2005 RL but I now have a HTC One M9 with a 128gb SD card. I now have all my music on my phone. I have driven many cars with bluetooth audio and I love using my phone and the Power Amp app to play it all. This sounds like the perfect solution. The price is a bit high but I don't think there is anything else out there like this.

Just so I am understanding how it works correctly, it plugs into the XM unit in the trunk. I then connect to it and the HFL at the same time. The music will stream through an XM channel? When I receive a phone call the radio will mute, the song will pause and the call will come through the HFS system? When I hang up the music will continue to play where it left off?

That's how it's marketed. I have a feeling it actually doesn't interact with HFL at all. Your phone will be paired to the car and the BT45.

I believe this plugs into the XM tuner so if you don't have XM this probably won't work.

It looks like the product danperson1 posted only needs my aux port and USB charge capability from the listing description?
worth a shot as it's only for music, the phone BT in my RDX tech works fine

This particular model states it plugs in to the xm tuner. Look at the description on Amazon.

The one he quoted plugs into the audio jack in the center console, not the original one in the first link that plugs in to the xm

I actually bought this unit when posted and it works flawlessly when I just want to stream some audio

You can verify with NavTool, but it plugs in behind the Navigation drive in the trunk on the drivers side rear deck lid

USASpec unit that plugs into the XM module. There is a hardwire model and a bluetooth model.

Does XM still work with this installed? Does this play on a specific XM channel or something?

The way I understand how the wired USASpec works is there are two XM "tuners" so to speak. Pressing XM should toggle between XM1 and XM2. USASpec takes over one of those and leaves the other for XM traffic.

It works great. XM 1 is used for the Bluetooth and XM 2 is used for XM as well as the Traffic option on your Navi. The sound is awesome. One thing I noticed you can even make loader by adjusting the volume on the Bluetooth device like my iPhone 6. I will try to make a video soon.

Edit: Opps. I misread your post.

So XM1 is for streaming bluetooth music and XM2 is for listening to XM?

Im getting ALOT of "bleed through" XM 1 channel music/commercial with my Grom installed Bluetooth unit. I went through the process of removing the stereo unit to install the it. It works, but is Very buggy and the XM channel can be heard a little in the background while playing my music from my iPhone. Actually a lot.

Thinking of getting this unit and installing it in the trunk. Anyone have install pics? Also, how clear is the sound and how dependable is the connectivity? The Grom is pretty bad even with the latest patch (and after pulling the stereo twice!) and connectivity is hit and mostly miss.
