New RL owner
I am new to this thread awaiting delivery of my 2011 RL Tech with 75,000 miles. I join with a heavy heart after the total loss of
my beloved 2007 TL Tech that was totaled 3 weeks ago by an ignorant, distracted driver. No-one was seriously hurt but I'm going
through severe withdrawal from a car I truly loved. Since I can't replace the TL exactly, after much searching, the RL I found seemed
to be a good choice. Hubby doesn't like the newer TL's and nothing else jumped out at me like the RL. I'm still fighting with my
insurance company for a decent settlement on the TL but the RL will soon take it's place in the garage. I hope I love it as much!

Unless it was a MT and you just love rowing gears, I have a feeling you will like the RL better. on your purchase!

She's a woman. I don't think gay men call their husbands "hubby".

I too am a recent RL convert. Just picked it up on Saturday. 05 NHBP with ebony interior. Very high mileage but it seems to have been take care of before I got it and I know Honda products tend to be reliable if taken care of.

I've only recently started to come around to the 2G RL styling since I've started to pay attention and see them in real life.
While I think the 3G TL is one of the best looking Acuras, the 2G RL is right up there. Factor in the additional "luxury" of the RL and I think you have a winner.
And FWIW, in the RL lineup, I definitely think 2G > 1G > RLX. I know you all were holding your collective breath in anticipation of what *I* thought, so there you go.
Happy RL'ing! Post pics when you got 'em.

Thanks for all the nice thoughts! My wonderful husband took such incredible care of my NHBP TL that it still looked new both inside and out. I know he will devote the same care to
the RL when it comes home. My insurance company finally settled at the amount I wanted for the TL and as soon as I get the check the NHBP/ivory RL will be mine. It looks like it
was well cared for, got a good deal and I know I'll be driving it for many years to come. I will post pics soon . . .
FYI: My other ride is a 2014 RDX Tech in Basque Red with oem chrome RDX wheels. Love it!

I saw one over the summer that needed an engine replacement. '05, 117k miles, one owner, rebuilt title and he was willing to go down to 2k even on it. I just didn't have the patience to deal with an engine replacement at the time, I wish it had popped up now. They are getting really cheap....

^I recently had my mechanic do an engine swap in my TL. only cost $1300 in total. $650 for engine and $650 for install.
engines can be found for super cheap!!
to me; it's not worth getting rid of my TL, BUTT, if I could find an RL for like $2k like you did, maybe...just maybe i'll pull the trigger. but I really want an suv/cuv/jeep because of flooding here in Houston.

Not or sure why the RLX is last of the RLs though. The hybrid drivetrain is an enthusiast's dream. I got my eye on the MDX hybrid in the next couple of years.

From a reasonable distance, I can't tell the ILX and RLX apart. Not really great when your flagship model is confused for the entry level.
The 2G RL, to me, is the sweet spot of appearance in the 1/2/3G progression.

I drove the hybrid RLX in June, dealer was giving me a nice price on my car and a really good OTD price on the Sport Hybrid. The driveline did really well and they ironed out a lot of the "jerkyness" in the 2G RL, but it lacked in two key areas where the 2G blows it away. Road feel and steering feel. I honestly felt disconnected from the road. The steering is electronic, which didn't help. Yes, it's smooth and all, yes the car is VERY refined, especially when compared to my 1G RL, but I feel it lost the essence of the sports sedan and road car that the 2G is to me. That's my 2 cents

Hey everyone, just purchased my first RL (and my first car) a few days ago! Interior and exterior are almost perfect, good maintenance record (although pre purchase inspection did recommend resealing cranks). Overall I'm super happy with the car, everyone loves it, and I'm going to try to take good care of her!
