Thanks! i've always loved these ever since they first came out. Never thought i would buy one though. I was supposed to be in a Cts-v right now but deal fell through and I saw this for sale and jumped on it. I'm definitely happy with the car. Its not as powerful for what i'm used to but still a great car.

The RL is a great car, but the most common lament is lack of power (low-end torque most notably). Do you have any sort of warranty or guarantee on the car? The RL has a boat load (it's kinda like a boat) of first-in-class features that weren't as stout as they could have been in the 2005 MY. If you have a warranty of any sort, I suggest researching the issues and getting them fixed sooner than later. If you don't have a warranty, well... just keep driving.
The best way to search is using the advanced search option under the search tab under the thread title bar. There is also a "search this forum" option on each forum's main page. These features will keep out the riff-raff of all the other forums and let you focus on the RL specifically.
If you are thirsting for that extra power, see if you can replicate the 5500+ RPM tachometer pause in 3rd gear manual mode. Playing with that should definitely put a smile on your face.

That last paragraph about the 3rd gear 5500+ rpm, not sure what you mean. haha. if your saying get out there and hit the vtec then yeah i'm sure i will, can't wait for an intake to enjoy the vtec sound, last time i had vtec was in my 2000 civic si as my daily driver. was a fun little car.

Yeah a second gen V car is on my short list.
Thats the risk you take with a small dealership, I took the same risk and you usually end up with a trade off of the warranty/security for a lower price point.
In your case it may not work out very well.
Unfortunately the head light flicker isnt a connection issue, but luckily the issue is already documented here.

Thanks heavy, yea 2nd gen V is a great choice! i have to buy a house first. lol then i can buy my car. yea my a** got done right by the small dealership. i'm just praying when i go by there today they will help me out with all this. i'm gonna try and work em. yea i was doing the reading for the headlight and saw what my options are. if the dealership doesnt help then i'll just go to acura and have them test the headlights to check if its the bulb or the control unit. fml! lol

Don't underestimate the issues caused by an old battery in the RL. There is a slew of possible errors and mishaps that can be caused by a battery as little as 2 years old. Battery testers don't load it as hard as the RL does, so those are worthless in diagnosing. The only true test is to use a new battery and see if the problems go away.

Absolutely, weak battery can be no issue if you start and drive it once a day, but leave it over the weekend and wow, strange things start happening!
I even noticed this in our minivan. I had not changed the battery in about 6 years, and the driver side power door would always jam, and finally not work at all. After I changed the battery in anticipation of the winter, all of a sudden, the door works as if new! I am convinced the new battery "fixed" it.
