Leaving Acura

Leaving Acura
so after my RL got totaled and being harassed with insurance, i've decided to sue insurance company for triple damage.
This is going to be long and lengthy process that will not come to conclusion for a while.
In the meantime, I've decide to ditch Acura/Honda as there is nothing in current lineup that I like.
Instead, I've got 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti-Sport AWD.
Fully loaded w/ MSRP over $56k, 2yr lease with 10k miles per year.
Paying just over $400/mo & $3000 at the pickup.

WOW, quite a shift off the mainstream! Enjoy. Insurance issue, an uphill BATTLE, maybe worth the effort, maybe not! Have fun with your 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti-Sport AWD. Looks like a lotta car to me.

not making car payment is awesome, but i just don't know the long term reliability w/ Alfa, so I decided to lease instead.
besides, it's deal that i couldn't pass on at that payment level on 57k car

Not having a car payment is awesome lol, but that’s a great pickup! I love the way these cars look!
I recently went thru my own insurance battle, contested the value given to me for my totaled Camry. Definitely an uphill battle but I came out on top! Good luck! Yours was the one that was hit while parked and they told you it was a false claim right?

but damage is shown as straight line which means vehicle was standing still.
i f**king hate insurance company.

2.0L turbo engine - 280hp @ 5200rpms - torque 306 @2000rpms - mpg 23/31 - 8spd automatic (hoping it is not ZF one )
$400/mo + $3000 down (or whatever fees that 3G includes) - that comes out to effective $525/mo... steep for sure...
One really smart move is doing the 24month lease - not the 3yr one or longer

While I can believe it is a blast to drive one, not sure of payment that high for specs of this car...

TLX with MSRP of $39,195 is asking $409/mo for 36month & $3000 due at signing, not including tax/reg/title/etc.
sure you can negotiate it down, but I didn't get great lease deal from acura, not that I was interested to begin with.
Giulia's residual value after 24mo = 59%. $57k MSRP * 0.41 = $23370/24 = $973.75 not including tax/reg/title/etc
yes it does have 8speed ZF, which is far superior than 9speed ZF found in acura
program/logic is different from my F-Type & BMW's that use them but it's tried & tested to be effective.

Jag's ZF has dynamic/normal/snow mode and when you put the lever to left, it bumps to setting higher in 'Sport' which also shifts for you if you don't want to play with pedals.
Alfa's ZF has Dynamic/normal/advanced efficiency mode and manual mode if you flick it to left.
car is great but it's tad too quite for a sport sedan. needs active exhaust or something.
want to do stuff to it but it being 2yr lease, i will stick with tint & potenza re-11 only. supposedly very last set available from tirerack as they are discontinued.

For 525$, why not go with '18 Infiniti Red Sport 400? Could have leased it for about that money and have 400hp under the hood...
One thing I am certain is that Alfa's tuning is really good - so hp # may seem low, but the feeling is probably a blast to drive it.

#2. Q50RS, lease deal wasn't as aggressive/attractive as Giulia. I only wanted 2yr, Infiniti insisted 39 month.
#3. Insurance played big factor. I got a multiple quote from different carriers and Q50's premium was 2x the cost on Giulia. One company wanted $4200/yr vs $2150/yr on Giula, while Ameriprise thru Costco quote me
$1360/yr on Giulia vs $2500/yr on Q50RS.
Yes, Giulia's tuning is outstanding. The car is super solid as well, doesn't feel as fast as it is, but speedo says otherwise.
I've test drove 2x each at different dealerships of same kind of following
BMW: 330xi/340xi/430xi/440xi
MB: C300 4matic/C43 AMG 4matic
Jaguar: XE 25t/35t/S
Audi: A4 Quattro Prestige/S4
Infiniti: Q50S/Q50RS
Lexus: is200t/is350
Volvo: S60 T5/T6
Acura: TLX Aspec
Narrowed down to following: Giulia Ti-Sport Q4 / S4 / 340xi M-sport pkg / XE-S / Q50RS / C43 AMG
with options and etc, all of above cars MSRP was way over $65k with exception of Giulia & Q50.
did numbers with dealers and giulia was best bang for buck, unique to market, so that's how I ended up with it.
I'm waiting for arrival of RE-11 from tirerack which they claim it's very last set they had.
Once the car's broken in, i can't wait to go for a track day with it.
