Question How to shut off NAV?

When using the NAV system to go HOME, there comes a time when you know where you're at and how to get home from there. How do you turn off the NAV system, without having to shut the car off and restarting?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Press "Menu" and the select "Cancel Current Route."

Thanks.

Does that shut the NAV off, or just stop the guidance talk? Either one would be good.

nav is only off when the car is off unless you unplug it in the trunk.

You can reduce the screen brightness to off. Use the knob ring.

The day/night/screen-off button doesn't actually turn off the nav. It's always running when the car is on. But this is how you turn off the display.

The only means I know to disable the NAVI is not to accept the 'OK' on the boot up nag screen. Then the screen remains blank.

If you enable the NAVI on start up you can always select an alternative view screen instead of the map once you are done using the NAVI. The AUDIO screen or TRIP COMPUTER, or any of the embedded features aside from the map.

As mentioned above, you can CANCEL a current NAVI program, to discontinue voice prompts (assuming you have your settings for voice prompting) and if not viewing the map is your issue, select an alternative feature. If your ultimate desire is to blank the NAVI screen, there is no method I am aware of once the NAVI is initialized on start up.

How could you have missed the two post above? Simply push the little button just below the cancel button. Push it twice. Done.

Because I am an imperfect human being. And in my years of attempting to contribute to this forum I occasionally err.

Thanks for chastising me. Feel better?

Sorry Heavy. Did you feel excluded from the Bond clique? Should I stick to Lucy & Ethel (although I still do not know who is which)?

Would this make you feel better?
