Highest Miles on Gen 2 RL

I've got 185k miles on my 2010...

On a side note, back in 2002 I owned an '88 Legend coupe with a manual transmission that I sold to a friend with 321k miles on it . We stayed friends and she put another 20k miles on the car before finally selling it onward. Wish I still had that car. Gives me high hopes for this RL!

Who's the high-miles king in these parts?

I remember there was a guy who did 300K+ on his RL. He vanished some time ago though. (FN 90 or FP 90?)

I saw one for sale here locally with 225k miles on it.. Didn't see that one in person. My Dad's car (formerly mine) is a 2005 RL, with 173k on the odometer, half of which I put on it.

How'd you get 185k Miles on your ride in 8 years! LoL! I got 203+k miles on my 2005 and I thought it was high, LoL! I had 275k Miles on my 2002 Jag X-type before I sold it.

Bought it that way.... 1 owner car w/ 4 pages of carfax data showing extensive service history performed by the dealer who sold me the car... It was a salesman's car, who basically drove around 25k miles per year and kept it n creampuff condition and when he traded it in, the dealer put it on their lot rather than send it off to auction. I bought for about half of what these go for normally,

It replaced my '05 RL, which is now in my Dad's driveway. with about the same mileage. I wanted the color-combo and the electronic updates.

That's good! have you had any issues with either of them?

I got the pleather peeling on the armrest in the center and the driver's door. But the rest of the interior is nice. I had more mileage on my Jag and no interior issues. But I had to change my Transfer case as the early X-types had weak ones.

The only "non-regular maintenance item" I had to deal with on the '05 was when the crank pulley guide separated from the actual pulley, but that was a likely the result of tensioner-failue that occurred at the same time.

My new-to-me '10 RL is experiencing the CMBS/ACC/Airbag issue which I am working my way through now. I will likely do a separate thread on my process for that... I know now why I got such a great deal on this car (due to new cost of VSA module) but I don't regret my purchase. It's a very intermittent problem that is immediately cleared by shutting down and re-starting the car,... Can't believe it's a $2000 part! Go figure!

199k on my '05; I am currently dealing with the AFS error, the seats cracking, drivers side rear door not opening and the armrests bubbling. Mechanically I love the car, but I hate the interior quality. I had a loaded Taurus (if you can say that) before and the leather was fantastic even at 268k miles.

couldnt agree more on interior materials. Never had a car with so many bulbs going out (hvac, sear heater, hazard) and such crappy leather quality, arm rests, door arm rest, seats, etc. I’m at 128k on my 05, bought off lease in 2008 with 43k.

153k and counting. Bought it earlier in the year at 137k. My interior is a little rough in a few spots too, but the worst is the center console. I have an extra from the junkyard that I really need to send over to the upholstery shop for some TLC before I install it.

I have 199k on my '08. They rack up pretty quick because of a 100 mile round trip to work.

The only real repair I've had to do was when the radiator fans failed, so that cost me a little over $1k to fix with OEM parts.

There are some more minor issues I need to address like multiple bulbs that are burnt out in the climate control. The leather on the center console and drivers door is ripped to shreds. The door lock actuator on the rear drivers side door doesn't work, and front drivers side window doesn't always work.

All in all, I've been pretty happy with the car. Next year I plan to have the front end painted because all of these highway miles have sandblasted the paint to a dull finish.

damn man. That was pretty steep on the radiator fans. I just replaced my condenser fan (passenger side rad fan) for $161 plus about 20 min of my time, the other one is like $220 for the part. I’d avoid whatever mechanic you used because he gouged you heavily on labor, parts or both.

My 06 RL is at 70k miles. I'm the original owner. No issues. Everything works perfectly. Interior issues are: driver's seat is noticeably more worn. But hardly anyone else sits in the car so the other seats look pristine. The armrest foam has gotten "flat" exactly where my elbow usually rests. Other than that the interior looks fairly pristine.

Very well. Looking at the car you wouldn’t think it had that many miles on it. It has had the regular maintenance and parts replacement on it like hubs, axels, etc.

My 06 RL has about 71k miles on it. I'm the original owner, bought new. Paint still look brand new. It's been garaged since day 1 so very little UV damage. The headlights are also in good shape. I had a tint shop apply "paint protection" film to the lights to prevent UV hazing. The interior is pristine, with the exception of the driver' seat which is showing some wear. Everything works perfectly on the car.

My '06 is at about 100k and I've had it since 66k miles. It still feels very solid and I'm sure will go 200k if I need it to. I own a very low mileage 2002 Camaro SS in near perfect shape and even with the higher miles on the RL, that car still feels tighter than my Camaro. I know comparing a Camaro to an Acura RL is apples to oranges but I truly am impressed by how the Acura has held up over the years.

My 08 has 85k. I bought it in 2012 when it had 45k. It was turned in off of a 4 year lease from a lawyer's office. It has been a great car and I keep up the regular maintainance. Here is a pic from July 2017. The sh-awd is an awesome feature and has gotten he home on several snowy days.

Mine just hit 225K, I did the timing belt again around 200k. My wife wants me to get rid of it - but damn it keeps running so well. I don't drive it as much since I bought a 18 S4, but I still split this car for longer work trips. Its been a great car. Its an 2008 and I bought it CPO with 63K miles on it in 2011. I still get 24 - 27 mpg on the highway.

I am getting close on 188k on mine... runs great and will continue to run as my second car once I get another, newer one I wanted... currently in the process of selection and what makes the most sense, test-driving different models to figure out what will be my ultimate fun car... RL will continue to serve its purpose of preserving mileage on new car and keep me going in winter months with SH-AWD

If you like sedans check out Audi (with cpo warranty) even regular new A4s are pretty quick. But the s4 is incredible. Massage seats too. Bmw 435/440 also a blast, but if you can afford the occasional headache any good used 911 is worth taking a look at, really incredible to drive. 4 door Jeep Wrangler is also a cool car, able to take the top off and enjoy summer.

I looked at the Q7, it was really nice but couldn’t justify the higher price tag, So I bought a 16 MDX with an extended warranty and it is fun to drive. More fun than I had expected and it is a good handling semi quick suv. Great gas mpg too. Just took a mini 2k mile vacation and it was comfortable on long stretches great technology, 26.3 avg mpg. It was so great I am ready to let the RL go to a new owner. Good luck with your car search.
