Help! dealership nickel and diming me
Towed my car into the honda dealer in town (no acura dealer close) last Monday because the car would not start. Everything worked but the car just wouldn't start. It would crank over but not start. The shop told me that the immobilzer was bad, so I ok'ed it to be replaced($450 total) Friday comes around and the immoblizer is in, thats when I found out that I have 2 different emergency keys. They said they need them to match when programing the remotes to the immobilizer and that the key will be in today (tuesday), another $50. I called them today and they now are telling me that the keyless access control unit is bad and that it needs to be replaced ($383). The problem with that is that everything worked before like the keyless entry, the doors unlocked by the handle, the key stub turns over and recognized driver 1 and driver 2. I do think that is a concidence that both the immobilzer and the keyless control module can go bad at the same time. As of right now the car starts with the emergency key but will not recognize the keyfob. What should I do????

well... if its bad then its pay the bill and roll on.
If you think you can fix it and save some pennies, then sure do that. But your work wont be warrantied.
If you think they are lying, well, call the service manager on his BS and make him prove it to you.
Other than that, we can throw darts at the issue from our keyboard all day and hope for the best.

If the keyless entry worked when you dropped the car off, I think I would have the Service Manager do some serious explaining

Just trying to see if it sounds legit too everyone since its where I turn too for help. Just seems odd that's all. I don't have a problem paying the bill if its bad but to have it all go wrong at the same time is weird. I'm calling shanangans!!

I hear ya, and like Getakey said make the SM splain to you whats going on.
I'm not a fan of the dealer, and its very likely that they are adding shit on that they broke or do not need.

Dayum sucks that you going thru this issue.
when your car wasn't turning on did you check all the fuses? I'd hate to hear that one of your fuses was bad and that was the cause of your car not cranking on.
That happened to me already more than once. And it was just a fuse that went wrong.
Back on topic...
If you feel they are dicking you around, i say talk to the Service Manager to prove it to you. And you prove your point. In the end you might have to pay the piper.
Sucks bro...

was your door handle(s) ever replaced in your car's history ?
i remember when we had one that wouldn't start (got to the dealership by towing) : the faulty driver's door handle blew a fuse, preventing the car to start.
when door handle + fuse were replaced, everything worked fine.

Got the car back today ($508 later). They replaced the immoblizer and the emergency key. For some reason the keyless access control module was fine now after I demanded to talk to the SM. They said it never needed replaced and that it was a miscommunication. In the end glad to have my RL back!
