Hands Free Link
I have not been successful in getting the “handsfree” to recognize “phone set up” it wants to do everything but “phone set up”. Find home, turn radio on, increase the fan speed, etc.
I had my wife say it and it still does not recognize the words.
Any suggestions??

Three Wheelin'
Like Vik said, use the two round buttons for stereo, nav, A/C etc but use the other two buttons on the left side of the wheel for the phone. Double check that the cell phone you are trying to connect to is bluetooth compatible with the RL's system. What brand, model of phone are you using? The instructions in the owners manual are pretty clear on linking your bluetooth cellphone, BUT it must be a compatible phone.

When you do get it to link, please let me know. My wife has the same phone and when she uses, she hears an echo. Nothing I have done solves the problem and I am told it is that phone and one other that have this problem.

Ok we are now paired. Phone book set up. Made calls successfully.
Question: the manual states "HFL interrupts the audio system (if it is on), and plays the incoming call notification, if activated".
How do I activate the incoming call notification?

Moto A630 Pairing, and Audio Quality
Reading about linking headaches, has anyone tried a Motorola A630 Bluetooth with a 2005 Acura RL.?
T Mobile has Acura approval on the A630, but then not all the phones work as well as others. I see the Moto V710 (Verizon) and Moto V3 Razor (Cingular) work well, but I'm trying to stick with T Mobile - er... unless their only approved phone the A630) is a dog when connected to HandsFreeLink.

If the handsfreelink.com page says it is compatible, it probably is. Your best bet is to go to a t-mobile store, have them pull out a phone and take them to the car with you to pair it. If it works, then you are in good shape and you can just buy that one. You should check over in the TL forums - 3G audio - and see if people have paired it there. I say this because the TL and the RL have identical HFL systems. (https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-articles-2/)
