H&R lowering springs

I know this has been beat to death but I'm bringing it up again. I did search but a lot of the information was old, most likely still valid but thought I'd get some new input if I can.

right now, stock but have after market 18" wheels that fill the wheel wells pretty good but there is a couple inches I could lose to make it look better.

a couple questions.

H&R vs Aspec springs, is there that much of a difference?
Ride quality after installing the H&R springs?
with 18x8" wheels/tires after lowering is there any rub when turning?

I've been wanting to do this for a while but aren't 100% sold on the change, I don't want it to be too low and hit the tires or decrease my turning radius due to rubbing.

Thanks for entertaining my questions.

Right now the best price I've found is from sport compact warehouse at $228.58 shipped.

I know the H&R lower about 2.5 inches vs about 1 inch for the Aspec. Unfortunately I was only able to read limited, dated experience on the H&R ride quality. Just keep in mind that any static type lowering usually worsens ride quality.

At 2.5" drop you won't rub but come pretty close, like Project said any lower spring will worst the ride quality (bump absorption but gain in griping in corner). FIY if you decide to lower the car then get ready to change out the struts/shocks. Alignment can be an issue as dealer/ normal tire shop don't want to deal with lowed car.

You will put extra stress on the bushings and end link, top hat (if you reuse them). I got a TL-S which come somewhat stiff from the factory so the KB1 RL suspension set up is perfect for DD beside the Aspec wheel (more tire choice) everything else I prefer stock.

Matter fact the RL with OEM 17" rims has similar ride quality of a LS460 with non air suspension setup.

Converted mine to ASPEC 18" wheels and H&R years ago at 60K miles. Now have 133K+ miles and essentially no problems. I don't think it dropped 2.5", more like 1.5".

Replaced one shock, and no rubbing. Ride was a bit more harsh as you would expect but not excessive. I LOVE the stance and stronger connection to the road.

Looks fantastic... I was on the fence but this pushed me over. Did you install the springs yourself? Doesn't seem like it'll be difficult.

I do a lot of the work on the car, but did not install the springs myself. Had a local indy shop do it.

Thanks for the kind words. I think you'll be pleased.

Old photo of my car dropped on H&Rs and 20's. I had the front spring clipped one ring to even the drop all 4 corners. 30k and no problems so far. =)

SVTruong ... that looks fantastic, seriously, very clean, simple and sexy. The more I see the Aspec front lip the more I want one, to me it evens out the car. Thanks for the picture.
