Good thing I purchased extended warranty!

Since the car was a CPO, the extended warranty only cost around $1,100. Thus far, I've claimed about $1,800 in warranty services. The warranty expires in January, and I sure hope anything that can go wrong will go before then!

Warranty Claims:

1. Power steering pump
2. Front and rear left door actuators
3. Right door handle/sensor
4. Rear sway links and bushings

CPO covered:

1. Alternator
2. Complete center console (because of the bubbling arm rest)
3. Drive shaft

The dealer replaced a headlight bulb? That is amazing.

My dealer replaced the battery as a courtesy, although I am worried that something expensive is draining it.

oo7, they replaced the bulb under warranty because it was flickering. They were more surprised at the fact that the warranty company paid for the sway links and bushings.

On a positive note, the random shaking of my car is now gone!!

Was the bulb related to the TSB?

To be honest with you, I'm not sure if it was related to the TSB. I just told them my head light is flickering and they said OK, we'll replace the bulb.

That's nothing...I paid $900 and had over 5k in claims, including torque converter, afs system, AC compressor and quite a few other things, some of which are on your list. My warranty expired in may 12 and since then I've had no problems...knock on wood.

Now you're making nervous, since I have not had some of the aforementioned items replaced. Tell me about your torque converter experience. What were the symptoms?

there was a flutter/whine in the transmission at around 38-40mph, bottom of 4th gear. Didn't affect performance, just annoying. Search the board, I posted about it.

I'm the same way. I bought mine in Feb. 12 with 117k on it and the extended warranty has helped. Paid $2,600 for the extended warranty through a 3rd party company, which I was skeptical as hell about, but I'm glad it's done it's job.

New motor mounts
New radiator
Water pump & timing belt (luckily covered under "warranty" thanks to a friend and the warranty company not asking questions)
Power steering

There's been a few other things but I can't remember.

It expires soon so hopefully if anything else breaks, it goes soon.

Took the RL in for an oil change this morning and looks like I'll hopefully be getting more use out of this extended warranty! Still waiting to hear back if it'll be covered but I'm almost positive it will. I looked at my contract and all of the below parts are listed. I spent more on the "Select" warranty because it covered suspension.

Oil Pump (leaking) - $1294
Rear lower control arms and ball joints (shot) - $1877
Left inner boot (shot) - $294

So a total of $3465 for parts and labor. Damn dealerships! Fingers crossed that I come out of it only paying my $100 deductible. Just bought a turbo kit for my fun car, so I really don't feel like throwing that kind of money at the daily.

Did anything tip you off on the issues? Were there any weird noises? Vibrations?

You sure hit the jackpot with the extended warranty -- maybe a few more and they will classify as "salvage"

Nope, none at all. I even just replaced the tires about 2 weeks ago and didn't notice anything different. I just took it in for routine maintenance and the service adviser was like "Oh by the way..."

Maybe I should drive out to your dealer and have them tell me a bunch of "by the way's". My dealer doesn't try as hard as yours, I guess.

It seems like every time I take it in, they tell me something is wrong with it or try to up sell me something. Which right now, is a good thing because I have the warranty, but after the warranty expires, I might be a little annoyed. They usually are very thorough though which I do like.

They also tried to tell me today that I had chips in the front bumper and that they could repaint it for $699. After I said no because the car is my "beater" the guy came back a few minutes later to tell me he talked to his manager and they could do it for $549 and give me a rental. Um....no.

I have always had good luck with Acura of Boston. They are a pretty good drive away from me, but always make the drive because of the way I have been treated.

The guys at Connolly have always been great, courteous, and accommodating. However, this is the only ongoing issue I have that I can't seem to resolve.
