Drivers side....inside door handle

I don't know if the technical name for this part is inside door hande but it is the leather coated bar on the inside of the front of the vehicle right next to the window controls. I have a habit of using this to close my drivers door since it appears to be a door handle. However this moring I heard a slight crack and noticed that the plastic cap on this part came off I snapped it back on but it popped off once again when do to the impact of closing the door. I then examined that part and it appears that it can be reparied with some sort of glue since its not totally cracked and is still connect to the door (dont know which type of glue would be best). I know for sure that the wont use this to close door anymore though... any ideas???

That's the arm i keep telling my wife not to close the door using it. For a tank, some parts are surprisingly weak...

I think recycled parts stores may have it for a low price.

I just need to figure out what plastic glue works the best to keep the cap from coming off the arm when I close the door.

I found that using the very lower part of the door handle/arm rest seems to take the pulling better imho. It just feels like a more solid pull.
