Driver Side Lowbeam

Wow I feel like I'm hassling you guys with all these issues in such a short period of time. Hoping this trend doesn't continue.

So I'm not real familiar with these HID lights. My driver's side bulb ('05 RL) will work fine, then go out randomly while driving with the lowbeams on. Was probably driving for 20-30 minutes before the bulb went out. This has happened twice now. If I turn the lights off and back on, the light works again. Does this just sound like a HID bulb at the end of its life? Or does this sound like a bad ground/bad connection issue?

If it's a bulb, any good online sites for the best deal? If it's a connection issue, I miss my Ford...

Similar to the "flicker" described in these threads?

Sounds like a bulb issue after giving those a quick read. I wouldn't have described it as a flicker, but the replies (in the links above) seem to give a similar description to what I've experienced.

Now to find a good deal on bulbs.... Perhaps I'll give one of Acurazine's lovely vendors a buzz and see if they've got any deals going?

Was looking through the vendors and it seems like like http://www.hidextra.com is the way to go when it comes to price. Anyone here have any experience with them?

and if you're confused by the above, you can just buy this one (make sure the color is the same)

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Xenon-...8002471&sr=8-5

the bulbs in our cars might be Sylvania which for whatever reason is like $75 on ebay right now.

Might as well buy 2x Philips...

I would avoid cheap brand name bulbs from ebay, most likely they're fake. I bought a pair of Philips 4300K for $80 and they are very dim compared to the original.

I purchased one recently on ebay, OEM Honday HID for $68. I'd recommend changing BOTH light bulbs so the color matches evenly.

I should clarify: Sylvania bulb in OEM Honda box. Another words, an "OEM" bulb I purchased from ebay.

Thx for all the info!

Dealing with two more issues. Windshield washers aren't spraying, even though I can hear the pump working. Also found out after work today my AC blows warm air. Awesome. What's strange is this seemed like such a solid car. Figures. I definitely feel like this thing will be going up for sale soon if things continue this way.

Definitely not the experience I was expecting from Acura.

You have a 6 year old car that needs a little attention... how is that a bad experience from Acura?

Well I never had any of these issues in my last 4 cars in such a short period of time. I realize this is an Acura forum, so my being new here and questioning anything Acura is going to go against the grain. It's not my intention. Simply sharing.g my experience with Acura. Your experience may differ.

You could say this is more of a dealer issue. I'd like to think when you buy a car from a high volume, major dealer who sells new and used cars, you would get a car where everything works past the second week of ownership. Especially one that represents a brand as one of its flagship models. I guess I'm just funny that way. It's just money right...

I have owned two Acura's for 8 years. I AM biased towards Acura, but only b/c I have experienced the reliability their cars have to offer. I had Legend #1 from 110k to 190k mi and believe that car hit it's prime after it's second timing belt. I replaced lights bulbs, windshield wipers, windshield sprayers, tires, vacuum canisters, and everything else the can wear out on a car. I hit 4 deer, a dog, and an armadillo and replaced the mechanical parts that broke as a result. I sold the car at 190k b/c it kept turning on. The buyers son, who works at Midas, inspected it and test drove it rather hard. Got out and said this is a good car.

You don't buy a Honda for the electronics or the aesthetics; you buy one for the engine. I hope you take the time to give the car a chance for you to count on it. The A/C is notoriously bad in the '05s and a little research would have given you a heads up. Still, people have successfully replaced their A/Cs to end up loving their car. If you turn around and sell, how much money will you lose? Cars are not investments, and they brake.

By the way, I only had to replace the tubing for the sprayers. You can find the part on oemacuraparts.com.

Thanks for sharing. Always nice to hear people who believe in a brand.

Yesterday I called the dealer and left messages with the salesman, sales manager, general manager, and customer service manager. They've since asked me to bring the car by this Saturday (only day I'm not on shift) so they can take a look. They've assured me they should be able to take care of the problems I've experienced. Hopefully they stay true to their word.

I'll definitely update everyone here with what happens. I've heard good things about Acura customer service. So I'm hoping for the best.

I can absolutely agree with this statement.
LoL, yeah its only money.

Good luck with the dealer visit, take a list with you and make them address all the issues.
