Door Handle Touch Pad

This morning when exiting the car, I touched the driver's door handle to lock the car and the little round touch pad was missing. The lock still worked but now I'm wondering how to go about getting that part??

Has this happened to anyone else and if so, were you able to find a replacement part?

Thanks

I'm confused, the dimple to lock the door is part of the handle... so the whole top of the handle is gone?

Gawd am I stupid! Bad snow/ice storm this morning. It was dusk when I got out of the car. When I went to lock the car, I touched the recessed area where the key goes in and as luck would have it, the car locked! I touched it again and the car unlocked... etc. I took out my little flashlight and saw the key lock area thinking it was where the touch pad was. Most of the handle was coverd with snow and ice.

Thanks for the close up picture Heavy, that jolted me back to reality.

Would one of the mods please show some compasion and delete this thread?

haha, no worries!

The honest truth is, I thought you were going to say that the key hole cover fell off. That is not uncommon, mine is loose now.

it is "clipped" on and you can order a new one which snaps into place. The unfortunate part is once they come loose its because the clips have failed.

Here is a thread with a pic: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/keyhole-cover-falling-off-784451/

I rolled up some 3m double sided tape and put it in the contact areas. She is still holding tight.
