Differences between '05, '06 & '07 RLs
Hi, I am new to this forum and looking to purchase a 2nd generation RL in the next few days.
Can someone point to a good site or personally elaborate on the all of the differences between the various 2nd generation RL years? I want to save a buck and therefore I am looking at '06 and '05 models. Up to this point I haven't come across the differences and would prefer not to 'discover' them after committing to the 'wrong' model year.
Thanks

(difference between 05 and 06).
The current model's changes are a sticky at the top of the forum.

The only difference I found on the 07 is that the trunk opening button is now a microlever in the center rather than a microbutton offset to the side. Otherwise the car is identical.

Thats why you notice an apparent difference, but its not-its a backup camera difference

05 vs 06 vs 07
From what others say on this forum, the '05s had their share of minor glitches, some but not all of which were fixed with updates by dealers. The '06s seem to be fairly trouble free. The changes btn '06 and '07 are noted as above. The main additional thing you need to be aware of is that there is an input for a music player in the storage area behind the front cup holders in the '07s. Also, there is no fin on the roof in the '07s due to the deletion of onstar.

There are very small discrepancies between different sources, such as the acuranews.com website, the acura.com website and the various brochures for each car. These variables seem to exist to some extent for each year also.

Voice recognition in 05/06 is 560 to 590 depending on your source of info, and the 07 brochure claims 680 voice commands, slightly more than the claimed 650 for as the 2007 RDX and MDX.

Proboscis-free zone
The "fully loaded" 2006 is the Tech Package (CMBS/PAX). It has adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, and 18" Michelin PAX runflat tires. The PAX tires have been somewhat controversial due to questions about replacement cost and the robustness of the dealer network. Most agree they ride better and quieter than the stock 17" rubber.
Do not confuse the 2006 Tech Package with the 2007 "tech package"--that's the same as a 2006 base minus OnStar and plus backup camera. Confusing, I know.

Right, PAX tire size is PAX 245-680R460A
245 = section width in mm
680 = rolling diameter in mm
R = radial
460 = outer wheel width in mm (approx 18.1")
A = asymmetrical, because the PAX inner wheel rim diameter is approx 25 mm shorter than the outer wheel width.
I believe the wheel size is 235mm x 460mm
