Dayco timing belt tensioner warning!
Had my timing belt, water pump, tensioner, bearings, serpentine belt and spark plugs done few weeks ago.
Ordered parts from germany through one finnish part store because oem parts were so **cking expensive here,
t belt, w pump, bearings and tensioner almost 800€.
Aftermarket parts about 250€, Bosch t belt, Japanparts waterpump and Dayco tensioner and bearings.
Thursday morning i was at my job at morning, i opened drivers door before i shut down the engine and heard strange knocking sound from engine (nothing inside the car due good sound proofing),
it got louder and nastier when revved the engine (not above 2000rpm) little bit. It was quite clear that Legend wasnt driveable any more.
Contacted the shop and my personal master tech what to do now, then insurance company and they ordered towing to the shop and gave me a loaner car.
At the shop they opened the timing side of the engine and noticed that the tensioner had thrown out all the grease what supposed be inside of it and it was
really loose letting the belt flapping all around.
Now new tensioner and belt are going to be OEM.
Luckily timing didnt jump at all thanks to the spring inside the tensioner being strong enough.
Did some investigating and found out that this isnt first Dayco tensioner that failed.

Glad you got it sort it out...
But i remember you were in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...t-kits-888928/ when I changed mine, and I posted the name of the kit.
DJkurious had posted the Gates kit, but I preferred the mitsuboshi belt to the gates one. reviews. All others were the same. And quite economical too.
Dunno why you went the other way.

Yes i remember that, one thing is that when those parts came from Europe i didnt have to pay taxes and custom fees, and Aisin kit wasnt available from Europe.
