Don't know if this can be found in the manual regarding the HFL.
I figured out how to store my cell phone voicemail AND my work voicemail albeit a bit differently.
My regular phone voicemail I stored by simply putting in my phone number and then adding a few "pauses" and then my four digit pin and finally adding a "pound". The HFL recognizes the phrase "pause" and "pound"
My work voicemail was somewhat trickier:
I added my dial in phone number first then added the mailbox number. Since I was having trouble ALSO adding the four digit pin into this long string I cutoff before adding the pin.
When I dial in now I just wait until it does ask me for the pin number and simply hit the talk button and speak my four digit pin and hit the talk button one more time and say "SEND"
It took some time and finnagling but it finally works

Great thread......
Here are some of my hidden RL gems that have not been mentioned yet.
1. When driving recklessly, the RL console will flash the word 'brake' if too close to another car in front
2. When driving really recklessly.... I am fairly certain the RL applied the breaks on me when I came close to a car in front of me who was turning right and I came close to hitting his rear bumper
3. Seeing the remaining oil life on my dash
4. Plugging my iPad into the USB port and being able to control it on the dash (probably available in other cars but I think it's cool)
5. The automatic cruise control that maintains distance to cars in front... Very neat
6. When using cruise control, the exact speed is displayed in digital format on the dash (useful here in Canada when I set the speed at 14 over the limit to avoid speeding tickets)
One question I have however: my front bumper has a right rectangle indentation on the right side. Any idea what it is for?
Thanks for the great posts....

Neat Things
That said, I have only gotten the car to actually apply breaks once.... unsure how that happened to be honest. Does someone else know? I don't know if I have the ACC engaged or not....

autotilt
I remembered my CL having this feature so decided to see if the RL had it too.....Yes it does! if u select the side mirror selector switch to the left the left side mirror will tilt down in reverse. same thing when u select the right mirror. great feature when trying to parallel park!

I am not sure that this thread is for people too inept to read the manual, I think it is more for unadvertised features that have been discovered through experience and experimentation.

It detects things in front and actually brakes or speeds up depending on how you're using it.

I just found out when i turn my car off with the music volume still playing loud and then start it back up again, the music will start playing quietly and then go back to the original loudness setting you left it at when you turn it off after a few seconds.

Soft ramp is a common feature of any good audio chip. It will also do it when coming out of HFL.

Tire Pressure PSI
Sorry if this has been discussed, but I found a cool feature on the way to work today. When toggling through the MID (Average speed, Average gas milage etc.) I stopped at the "Tire Pressure Normal, All functions Normal" or something along those lines. I then hit the middle Select\Reset button, and it showed me the current PSI of all 4 tires. Pretty cool

You know how when the trunk is open, swiping hand over handle to lock doors locks them but you don't get a "beep" so you know trunk is open.
Well the other day I was not getting beep. Thinking WTF. Checked trunk. Shut. Swiped again. No beep. WTF?
Ah ... the hood was popped. Had the car like 5 years and had no idea until now a popped hood would omit beep on lock.
p.s - and about time this thread got a bump!

DRL's while at a drive in or stalking your significant other if you want to run the car without having your DRL's aggravate other partitions or give away your position turn the car OFF or first position, apply E break start car back up NO DRL's!

2 neat things I found.
1. At night if you press the window lock button all except the driver window switch will stop illuminating until it is depressed.
2. If you accidentally leave you keys in the trunk and attempt to close the trunk it will automatically open back up therefore preventing you from locking your keys in the trunk.

During the winter time if you want to warm the car up but not have to stay in the car you can lock the doors using the key and still keep the FOB in your pocket. The car will unlock when you touch the handle.

Another way to lock your RL while running is to open the window close the door lean in, lock the doors, roll up the window (better get out of the way the window) doors will unlock when u touch them.

Why not just use the key to roll up the window? Or does that not work while the engine is running?

I was hoping that folks here would post any unusual or interesting "finds" they have noticed on their RL. I have a few that I have found or borrowed from other members of this forum (and another forum that I go to). Some are in the manual as features, but I think are easy to miss. Anyway, here are a bunch of finds you may or may not have seen, please add yours.
1. Hot looking spare - if you lift out the nicely designed jack holder and look at the compact spare you will notice that it is ALLOY rather than the usual steel. Perhaps weight saving? Then unscrew the binding plate and lift out to reveal ... a bright yellow paint job on front side. Good motivator for people to get the original put back on asap.
2. The parking brake on the floor. I have managed to bump it exiting a few times. Still better than the console mounted ones of other cars which just mess with the clean appearance.
3. The rear sunshade automatically retracts when you put the car into reverse.
4. There are two buttons inside the glove box. One is to disable the trunk lock (valet lock-out feature). The other is to open a hidden compartment to store the owner's manual. A hidden compartment, hmmmmm.
5. Auto roll down windows in the rear
6. Rear door windows submerge completely into the rear doors.
7. Also, the doors open wider than previous Legends. The rear doors open almost 90 degrees.
8. You probably know that if you push your fob open 2x and hold it ... all windows and sunroof open. This is great but how do you close them? Well, you insert the key in the door and and turn left (lock) 2x and hold and they all shut back up.
9. Either the right or the left outside mirror can tilt downward when in reverse by selecting the L or R on the control
10. There is a blue strip light found inside each inside door opener. So you can find the door handle in the dark.
11. The windshield spray jets are mounted on that strip of black plastic that overlays the wipers.
12. If you unlock the RL with your fob the door handle lights BRIGHTLY for you.
13. If you push the number button of the CD you are playing, the CD is "paused" until you push the button again.
14. The start is autoregulating, that is to say once you turn the start knob the RL decides how long to crank to start the car. So there is no need to crank for a couple seconds - once you turn to start and release, the car cranks itself the correct amount.

I don't have lights on the door handles (i think) nor is there any place to insert the key.

What's an E brake?
My car has a key insert, but the handles don't have any lights on them.
