clear coat peeling

On the spacer section between the roof and the side panels, the clear coat is blister and peeling. No sign of rust. It just started happening over the last few weeks and went from one blister to many blisters all the way from front to rear. What do you think could cause this? Its only on the passenger side. Driver side is fine.

At work, car is parked outside in sun. The pasenger side would be facing West at work, but why only the spacer affected? I wax frequently

At home, garage.

It apparently isn't uncommon to Japanese cars, though.

factory everything

Right now, it is just happening on that one strip down the passenger side. I'm hoping that it is something specific to the strip rather than a precursor to something that is going to spread

My carbon grey had the same issue only worse. The cost of the plastic strip is greater than getting them re-painted.

One of us is confused about which part is peeling here. I understand the picture to be from the strip between the roof and door which is part of the rear quarter-panel (i.e. metal).

Honda melded a piece of metal with plastic, smoothed the seam, and painted both materials to look like one piece?

The strip runs the entire length of the roof from the windshield to the back window. I'm not sure whether it is plastic or metal

So, it's between the upper part of the quarter panel and the roof? If so, I retract my last post.

I think the material explains the issue as well. The sun ate away at the clear coat of the painted plastic before the metal.
