car wont rev past 5500 rpms?? hits rev limiter
hey guys got a weird issue with my car. it wont rev past 5500 rpm no matter in what gear in either sport mode or automatic while driving. in part it just revs to about 4900 then hit rev limiter which i assume is normal. i have already reset the ecu and did the drive by wire throttle reset still the same. my snap on scanner did not pic up anything. is this normal?? any one else with this issue i have searched the forums and no one has my specific issue. car is a 2005 acura rl 3.5 170k

dont worry about what it does in park. because that's the max RPM it reaches.
you should ONLY be worried about why it isnt going to redline 7200 RPM in drive and under load.
vtec starts at 5500 RPM. the cam switches profiles, so if low on oil it wont go into the HIGH RPM range.
also, may be vtec actuator.
may be APP sensor.
