Average Speed
Do you guys pay attention to the average speed in the MID?
I've been noticing lately that my average speed is ALWAYS 26 mph...even when I start my car and immediately get on the highway and consistently drive 85mph for a long distance.
Does anyone else have this same average speed?

If you reset your trip every fill up like I do you will see the numbers vary.

resetting the trip will reset average speed...I do this once a week...
My average speed is also in the low teens most of the time as I drive around New York even including highway driving.
This translates into uber crappy fuel economy as 300hp is just chilling and I ain't getting anywhere...

Trip A will reset automatically at fill-up (if you have it set to do so) but Avg Speed A will not. Like others mentioned, you have to do it manually by cycling through the MID until you reach it then holding down the center reset button for a few seconds.
My commute is a little over 30 miles each way - about 2/3 on the highway with no traffic and 1/3 back roads. My average speed is around 47 mph. Since the switchover to summer gasoline I'm seeing around 24 mpg - I was getting around 21 mpg during the winter.

Man, I'd kill for even 21 mpg now. Try 14. And the last tank, with a new exhaust...ummm....11 mpg. Here's hoping the Sierra Club doesn't start coming after me! I knew what I was getting into, though....

Everytime I see a CTS, I'm thinking of you racing around in your V. Unfortunately (of fortunately), my wife does not like the CTS, so whatever thoughts I have of getting one, get vetoed.
