Afs light fix acura rl

Easy replacement sensor on ebay.lexus Toyota prius Mazda sensor is the exact same as the rl. Dorman 924-755. Had the AFS light on for couple of years didn't want to spend a few hundred bucks at the dealer . Had some free time remove the sensor and open it up it was all dus. Everything rusted out. Try searching online for a replacement and wasn't successful, but I came across a Toyota prius that looked exactly alike. Made the comparison and order one for 60 dollar online. Received and install in 30 minutes . Work perfect. No more annoying light on the dash.

I used the same. Installed back in June or July. Unfortunately the AFS just came back on. Going to get another one, just in case something wasn't quite right with the first one. But yes, these units look identical though I'm not sure if the internals have the same spec's. I suspect not.
Very easy to access and replace though.

so the movement of the light is connected to the sensor on the rear wheel?
my driver light is acting up but works fine when tested with the shop scanner
doesnt move when driving and flickers

Sure is. Odd, but the same can be found in many other cars. Some cars may not swivel left-right, but they might auto level to help avoid blinding oncoming drivers.
Have you tested the bulb, the ballast or the sensor in the rear wheel? With a flickering light I would guess the bulb is about to go. That's been my experience twice. Some have had to replace the ballast too.

If you get the AFS warning light and the headlights won't turn left or right, that's the rear sensor.

I have a bit of a theory on this, since I did just replace mine back in August and it's now occasionally coming on again. My '05 has 170K miles on. OE rear shocks, which means the rear doesn't exactly handle the standard road bumps as well as it used to. I've been meaning to replace them. I did the fronts earlier this year. I'm wondering if the rear occasionally dips down far enough, or enough times, to trip the ride height sensor.

Since the sensor isn't expensive, I'm ordering another one and replacing it this weekend, then we'll see. I'll write up a quick DIY. It's super-easy to replace.

since i bought the car it had issues with driver headlight
it flickers
turns off and i flip it back on with switch
the driver light also doesnt move side to side when i turn steering wheel
but it moves when i run diagnostic with autel scanner
im also getting codes
b1779 hands free steering wheel switch failure
b1826 front height pulse error
b2130 steering angle sensor circuit malfunction
b2141 suspension stroke sensor output error

im guessing the last code is for the rear sensor?

Acura RL AFS issue

Hi All, I replaced the leveling sensor last year but the AFS light came back on again within about a month or so. I also have the headlight flicker once in awhile. I fully recharged my Acura battery just to make sure that wasn't causing any issues, but no help.

I want to sell my Acura, but can't with this issue. I'm so frustrated, I've booked an appointment with the Acura dealer. They said they have 2 technical service bulletins on this issue from several years back. They will run the diagnostic and based on the codes will replace the leveling sensor or replace the control module. Or, they will diagnose an issues indicated relating to the VSA.

Anyone actually fix this AFS problem?? Am i wasting big dollars at the dealership??

Big thanks in advance for any comments or feedback!!

Go with this replacement from Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
I constantly had issues with my AFS. Replaced it back in Nov 2017 with this one from Amazon for $26 bucks. It's worked fine since then! I didn't voltage test this one, but it looks exactly the same, inside and out. Regardless, it's worked ok for me for the last year-plus.
Note I did purchase this same unit off Amazon before Nov 2017, but it failed. Must have been a fluke because the next one worked fine.

Hi there, the connector in mine is also rusted. Did you change the connector/cable as well? And if so , do you know where to buy? Thank you!
