2005 RL changed fob batts now nothing works?

I changed the batteries in my key fob marked #1 (it's the only one i have) and now nothing works??? I can't unlock the car I cant turn the ignition over? when i popped the cover off the ignition and put the key in I can start the car but the alarm continues to go off??? If it helps over the last month or so I would get a message when running the car that the key fob wasnt recognized? That's why I changed the batteries? Any help with this would be gr8 as i'm trying to avoid the dreaded trip to the dealer...

Not trying to be insulting, but are you sure you used the right battery or have it installed right? Otherwise it sounds like you need to reprogram.

None taking but yea it was the right battery and put in right the lights turned on and everything but i think it does need to be reprogram because the ignition did not want to turn at all and the key did not lock or open the car

My lights don't turn on or anything? The interior lights turn on and the horn beeps and i just put a new battery under the hood 2 months ago so??? I also tried to jump the battery and i still got notta? i do remember the dealer saying the passenger side door handle was replaced right before i bought it and i've been reading alot of bad things here about the door sensors? Why would i have to get the fob reprogrammed by just replacing the batteries???

instructions are on the back of the FOB
However, this does not sound like a simple FOB sync issue
FOBs have been "de-synced" and still work
