200,000 Miles
I finally reached 200K this Memorial Weekend.
Other than the AC issue and the front axles needing replacement, the car has been GREAT!
Last week I put new cross-drilled rotors after the originals were getting slightly warped after 197,000 of hard driving. $275 for front and rear rotors AND new pads, and a $30 impact screw-driver, I should be set for another 197,000 miles or so.

I love it! I've owned an '89 Legend that went for slightly over 300,000 and a 96 Integra that had 204,000. I bet your car still runs great! Thats why Im an "Acuraowner4life"

Thanks for the update, FN P90.
You should contact Acura/Honda. They should have you in an ad or something, especially since your RL seems to be in good shape.
You are a role model to us all!

While I agree that 200,000 is a lot for a car to last, it is obviously highway miles since it's only been a couple of years (and 27mpg). Most cars could go 200K in mostly highway miles.
It's still nice to know that the RL can roll to 200K plus, even though I only put about 5K per year on my cars. My last car was over 10 years old and it had 55K on it.
How much did it cost to replace the axles and why did they need replacing? What were the symptoms and was it cause by normal wear or did you side swipe a curb or something?

Burning Brakes
My 2006 RL only has 9,000 miles on it. I currently take the train to work so I only have a 10 mile round trip each day to the train station. My office is moving to RI in September - a 70 mile round trip - so the miles will start piling up then. I've gotten used to only filling up twice a month. I can't imagine putting 200,000 miles on a car.

200K miles in three years is an unbelievable amount. It is a testament to Acura reliability. My parents 93 Legend has 225K miles on it and it's still going strong. They're going to pass it off to my baby sister who's about to turn 18.

This is a regular customer that bring his nsx to our dealership. It is a 91 Nsx in pristine condition with over 300,000 miles on the odometer. Engine has never been rebuilt or taken apart for repair. This is what I call a drivers car, it is amazing to see this car with that many miles. Still runs like new, no knock, ping, or leaks. The guy drive his Nsx everywhere not like most people who garage their car all year round. This is the way to drive an Nsx not on a trailer. If anyone ever complain why the Nsx cost so much, this is one of the reason. A solid built car that is reliable, easy to drive and handle better most cars that cost twice as much. Try to get 300k out of a Porche or a Viper with replacing and engine or turbo.
This is what was said about it, this is not from me.

I just sold a bunch of RL parts to a guy in RI that has a '97 with 87k on it. It had some front end damage and he got it at auction. He can fix it with my parts and get another 10 years out of it....

2020 Acura RLX Advance
200k
Nice to know that the RL performed so well.
Before my recently purchased certified pre-owned RL (I did have a new 2007 VW for 1 short year in between...great car....could not deal with VW service), I owned since new a 2003 Acura CL-S 6 speed / Navi and put 183k miles on it. Sold it to Car Max last year for $6k. The car still looked great.
Always dealer serviced with non-synthetic Castrol oil at 5k mile intervals. Put a clutch, water pump, brakes, Michelins every 60k, and CV joints in it. At 182k one of the xenon headlamps went out...the labor and parts (generator unit) were $700......the only unusual expense I had on the car.
Never used any oil....still tight and a blast to drive at 183k and got 30mp hwy.
Unless gas hits $6 / gallon, I will probably keep this RL to about 200k.
You can't beat Honda engineering and the low cost to own factor.

Sorry for the crappy picture, it's from my crap Blackberry.
The car is still running like it's new. I replaced the timing belt and water pump around 130K. At 190K I replaced the plugs, but they looked fine and probably didn't need replacing.
This is a great site and hopefully I can contribute more often.

I am at 130k in my 05. Only problem I have had is with the A/C. Doesn't seem like the fan blows high enough. But overall, can't complain. Hope the luck continues.

I have noticed if you close the rear seat vents on the back of the center console, it improves the force of air in the dash vents.
I notice the fan / vents are quieter on the RAL than previous vehicles I have owned, but to me, the air flow seems fine.

Yeah, yeah, yeah....well a LOT of good that does when the server hangs up for 5+ minutes at a time!
Now back to my case of the 'Mondays'.
