19" MDX advanced rims fit my 08 RL? Will clear caliper?

Hello, I just sold my 07 FX35 and now bought a 2008 RL tech.
My tires are bald and i think the original rims look weak. I really like the look of the 19" MDX advanced rims on 4g TLs, but i can not find any pictures or info about them on 2g RLs. Wondering if they will clear the huge calipers. If you can answer my question, greatly appreciated

Hello. Welcome to the forum. No, they will not clear the front calipers. Also, for future reference, there is a search function built into this forum that will assist you in finding the answers to probably 95% of the questions you might have about your car.

FYI, don't use the big red search button in the middle of the page. Find the "search this forum" bar on the right side of a forum screen.

If you buy spacers, buy hub centric, and get quality ones. No eBay or bargains.

I actually just bought a set of these wheels for my 08 RL last week. Like stated above, it does hit the caliper. I am waiting for spacers to come in the mail for the fronts. The rears look like they will fit no problem. Once I get the spacers in I'll be getting tires on ASAP.

Finally got spacers in, but waiting on wheels studs to arrive before I'm able to bolt up wheels safely. Running a 8mm in the front to clear the brakes. Will post better pics when all is said and done, but for now:

Smile Wheel Size / Bolt Pattern on RL

Can someone tell me if an OEM 19" wheel off of a 2011 MDX size would fit my 2007 RL? I know the bolt pattern is the same but I don't know if the MDX wheel will clear my front calipers. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

The only production wheels that Acura has ever made that will clear the RL calipers were made for the RL. Any other 5x120 wheel will require a spacer.

Hey guys, haven't been on here for a long time since I sold my RL over a year ago. I got a PM asking for some additional pics so I'm just going to put up anything regarding the wheel set up I went with. The car was lowered with hr springs on the oem shocks. It was slightly stiffer but I actually liked it better. As for tire size I’m almost positive they were 255/40/19. I had to get spacers to clear the front brakes. Spacers were 8mm and cleared the caliper by maybe 2mm. I bought them from Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Rings, and much more! Motorsport Tech. Since I ran spacers I had to get extended wheel studs since I was only able to get maybe 3 full turns on the lug nuts. There was another member who sourced a place in Canada I believe to get the correct stud size. The last thing is when running these wheels I had to purchase the MDX lug nuts as they use a different style than the RL. Sorry for the large size pics:

Nice looking on the RL, the only problem I have with the 19" on the RL is that Houston road is like crap and the tires will be expensive. I guess my Aspec wheel will do for now.

I'm so glad you posted the follow up pictures and information. I only had the first couple of pics to go from for YEARS and once I finally asked about the additional information it was a MAJOR help.
Either way, I still haven't pulled the trigger on an RL yet, but I did buy an 11 MDX Advance with these wheels. LOL! I am actually thinking about going ahead with an RL purchase in the next day or two, however, and I think if I do that I'll be proceeding with these same modifications. The main points for me will be to change the shocks to KYBs, I'm thinking, and perhaps the same springs, but maybe not. I'm no quite sure on that yet. I'd like to keep the factory ride quality, or as close to it as possible while lowering the car just enough to close that wheel gap a bit. 255/40R19 appears to be as close to OE tire size as can be had and provides perfect sizing for the wheel. I'm thinking about a Kumho called a TA71 because it has a similar tread design and close-ish ride quality as a far more expensive Michelin Primacy MXM4 while carrying a 60,000 mile treadwear warranty while the Michelin is 55,000 miles, so I consider that a win. I feel like these modifications, some tint for interior protection and to create some separation from the outside world, and a personal touch to the music reproduction capabilities of the car should make this a personally gratifying ride.

Does anyone else have any input on the lowering springs? I have seen a few different products on the market.
