07Rl small engine shake felt also from the cabin
 
Hi everyone,
I have an 07Rl with 97k miles on it,a few days ago in the morning when I started the engine I noticed a weird noise coming from the serpentine belt area, timing belt, it went away after the engine warmed up but I noticed every time the engine was cold it was doing that
so I went to the mechanic and got the timing belt changed with all the rest (hydraulic tensioner, water pump etc)
One of the tensioners was bad
after everything was put back together I noticed that the engine has a small shake,trembling and I simply don't know what it could be
i used all oem parts when I changed the belt
i thought it would be the motor mounts but going to a couple of mechanics and asking for an opinion one said yes and other no,I guess one was looking for some money to make
I'm really curious if anyone else encounters this problem and what could be the solution
one of the mechanics suggested that the lifters might cause that and that I should change to a different oil 10w40

at that age/miles broken motor mounts wouldn't be unheard of.. If you feel it in the cabin, chances are it's the rear mount that's busted.

The engine is visible shaking a bit too
So do u think that would be the back engine mount or the transmission mount

Also btw after I did the timing belt kit I hooked up the car to the computer and was saying that one of the catalytic converter was below normal, but all the cylinders are firing, so I don't know of the catalytic converter can cause that kind of a small engine shake
i will ad some ct cleaning stuff in the tank maybe that will do it

change engine mounts! too bad you didnt do it while the timing belt was done. passenger and front would have been easy with a lot of the parts off already.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if your engine mounts were bad. Honda doesn't exactly make the most durable mounts and we've seen failures at that age/mileage.

i have no idea what it could be I'm just worried about not getting in deeper waters if let undelt with
do u have an idea maybe where I could buy some OEM maybe used but in good condition, because the whole set of brand new mounts would be like almost $700 on Amazon plus the labor to install

you can buy the front and rear mount from a 07-08 TL Type S and yes RL OEM mounts isn't cheap.

do u know for sure they would fit,maybe like this it would be cheaper to find them
